I'm pretty surprised. I thought it would of peaked at 7 and then die. It's not the best song, but I like it.

Rihanna has had how many Grammy's and 2 #1 albums. She isn't just a single artists. All her albums end up selling in high 3 millions to 5 million over all in the US- she is hardly a flop.

A flop constituents no sales at all.

Work is a song about sex indeed but it's really not meaningless in the album.....

when the GP takes the time to look for the meaning of an album I´ll take that into account. but right now, all songs sent to the radio have to stand on their own cause the GP wont even bother to built the pillars for them

Good point. It's not that I hate her metaphors, but I do hope she tones down with her analogies a bit. It's not totally a bad thing to make straightforward easy-to-relate songs. Adele does it and yet no one calls her basic. Hopefully Gaga takes this into consideration.

Gaga is a very self reflective creature. she thinks too much outside of the box and sometimes its hard to follow her thread of thought. i´ve always followed her and see where she comes from, but for non fans its hard to see all those double meanings. people out there still think DWUW and G.U.Y. are songs about sex and wont bothe rto analyze the metaphors

Is this gonna be a weekly thing? "Oh, work spends its sixteenth week at number one!"

True which is why I hope she tones down a bit with her metaphors. You can make quality music without being too deep to the extent that no one understands you.

Rihanna can't afford to fail. Her bosses will do whatever it takes to make sure people don't think she's flopping.
