By the way, tonight is also the Democratic debate in Flint, Michigan. The most recent Michigan poll, released today, has Hillary up 17 points, 57 to 40. Michigan votes in two days. A primary is a 'regular' election like you think of one - people go to their voting place and cast their ballot in a voting booth throughout the day. At the end of the day when the polls close, they tally all the votes. A caucus is... different. I must admit I don't totally understand it. But you actually have to show up to your polling place at a particular time; it isn't "come vote whenever throughout the day" like a regular election. I think you get handed a ballot when you sign in and you pick your candidate from the list, then deposit it into that candidate's box or something. I think before you select, a representative from each candidate gives a little speech. It's a very lively/hectic atmosphere, unlike primaries where people just wait in line and vote by themselves. Then they count the ballots in each candidate's box, and whoever has the most wins the caucus in your district. Those 'caucus events' happen all across the state at the same exact time. It's wroth mentioning that people give speeches to persuade undecided voters to go on their team. In all honestly the process sounds like a mess. Primaries are so smooth. Just go vote whenever and get out. DONE. Also, idk why but I see many states where they still use paper ballots? Are they even in the 21st century? Here in Texas we use those voting machines. I suppose. I think they should be available everywhere though. I saw yesterday they ran out of ballots somewhere in Kansas and they had to go to Kinkos to print out more... I think so too. He does well in caucuses, it's a New England state very close to his (and neighboring NH where he did very well), it's fairly progressive but with an Independent streak that could actually work in his favor, and Hillary's spent no time there to counteract any of that. I think her eyes are on Michigan and Mississippi on the 8th, where she'll just continue to widen her delegate lead.
