I mean, Bad Romance peaked at #2 (in the US), so I feel like nothing in this life is for certain :toofunny:

Let's just wait until we hear it, then we'll talk. :hor:

Ok but if it they had factored in streaming back then BR would've gone #1 for 5+ weeks. I always consider it a #1 anyway

Top 10 debut is 100% on lock no matter how bad it is. It will go there off of hype alone. If she premieres the MV on the same day as the single, Top 5 debut is basically on lock. If she wants a #1 it has to be a really good song that connects well with the GP. I know she could 100% do it, but she just has to really want it.

Number ones nowadays are usually quirky, catchy and sometimes serious.

If Gaga manages to pull off all 3 then that #1 is hers. But it also has to do with whether there is competition or not, so we can never be too sure. :toofunny:

If she's lucky, yes! But if she will release it the same time other major popstars will release their work (see Perry's 'Roar' back in 2013 or upcoming Beyonce release) I think it won't go #1. I hope for a debut at #1 though, based mostly on streams. Rihanna's 'Work' is so basic, however it went #1 coz it didn't have big competition. If Gaga releases new song on Q3 or 4 when there's big competitiveness I don't think it will reach the summit.

how pessimistic could we get regarding the possible position of Gaga's upcoming lead single? i mean LMs were really traumatized by the Applause/Roar chaos. :saladga:

Currently yes, I see no competition.

In her case it's always competition that stops her, so let's see

Beyonce won't get that number 1, too busy making a tidal exclusive

Rihanna, Work reached its peak, so bye to it

Taylor, she's on break, NR isn't being promoted in the slightest

No Bruno or Eminem (Male competition)

And Katy is yet to announce anything

I see no song that will block Gaga's lead from going number 1 , especially that Adele and Justin reached their peak in terms of singles.

If Gaga waits, till everyone shows up with new jams then I might have a slight doubt, but in the mean time there's nothing stopping her. Also TIHTY is gonna die out by the end of March. She should release the single in April.

It's more important that the song is huge rather than #1

even songs like HIAM and Pillowtalk went #1 but faded quickly

7 years exists!

it will be the Happy of this year blocking several songs from #1

Are you really that confident? Applause only went to #4 so I wouldn't be so sure

LG5's lead single could very well be too. We can't be 100% sure
