I always go delivery, but this year I’m thinking of doing collection. It might be slightly easier to get one on launch day, plus I can pick which time I want to pick it up. And not wait on the delivery guy all day. But at the same time the store is gonna be so busy and I could just be chilling at home instead. I kinda want to do whichever will get me the phone faster. What day is launch day, again? It'll also depend on whether I'm able to cut out of work to go to the Apple Store... unless we can pick a specific time. My Apple Store is always so busy that you need to make a "reservation" online And if I pick it up in store, would you recommend having them set it up for me, or doing it myself at home? Launch day is November 3rd and pre-orders start 27th at 00:01am California time (I think - it's 8am here, anyways). I think you can pick which time - in the UK you can select a half an hour "pick-up window" anyways (however, you have to go at that time - if you're late they probably won't give you the phone). Personally I would set it up myself, I don't 100% know what they do to help you "set-up" the phone as I've never had it done before. I guess they just help you get signed into iCloud - if you have an iCloud back-up (I still use the old iTunes back-ups ) then you can probably wait for all your stuff to be downloaded onto the new phone before you go. I always hear it's best to set the phone up at new (and not restore any old data), but I've never actually done it myself. I still have like 7 years of old text messages on my phone However, I do plan on setting up this phone as new and just manually reinstalling the apps (that I still use). Yeah I'm setting an alarm for 3am my time on October 27 so I can order it I just really don't want to have to wait a few months. My current phone is definitely reaching the end of its life. It would be awesome if I could get it on the 3rd. Speaking of which, I won't be able to do the iCould back-up cuz there's something in my phone that's causing some apps to not work. Like I can't actually open the phone app on my phone So I'm just gonna start over on my new phone. I'll make sure my pictures and music are all saved somewhere else, I don't really care about losing my messages, and I'll put in the contacts again and reinstall all the apps I want. I think my contacts should just sync over with iCloud (I don't think it uses the back-up for those), but everything else - all the apps I'll need to download and set-up, all the passwords I'll need to enter... and then syncing across my whole music library I'm going to go look at cases/screen protectors/wireless chargers etc. now... hopefully I can find something I like that will be delivered before the 3rd!
