I think for all of those options, the intention is to have a really high opening week/month, rather than longevity. The charts turn over pretty rapidly in Japan and it's rare to have an artist topping the chart for many weeks in a row. As a result, the Japanese artists I follow don't usually milk their album eras for as long as American pop stars do.
