I hate the rounded corners of the iPhone X and I think the camera bump is really really ugly. I don't mind the one on the 7 Plus and 8 Plus but I just can't stand the bump on the X. Luckily the cases hide it.

I'd rather have Touch ID along with Face ID rather than only Face ID (mainly because I use Apple Pay all the time, and it might be a bit more cumbersome with Face ID), but I'm open to trying it out. I don't really mind there being no home button anymore as it tends to be the one thing that breaks for me (although it hasn't happened in years).

My main concern is the camera and how it is now vertical. I am left handed, so using my current phone as a guide, my finger rests over where the camera would be  I don't take pictures often but I can imagine it'll get annoying having to adjust my grip so my finger doesn't block the camera.

AirPower...  I don't like the name. I don't really get why they aren't releasing the charging pad now and are waiting until next year - they've had those styles of pads for a long time from other manufacturers. I probably won't get one as while I do have an Apple Watch I don't use it  and I don't have AirPods nor do I ever plan on buying them (Apple earphones constantly fall out of my ears + my headphone curse = disaster).

That being said I will be pre-ordering an iPhone X (256GB in Space Grey of course ) come October 27th. I really really hope I get one on launch day (November 3rd - the day after my birthday ) as I'm away for the weekend after and then off on holiday a week later.

Edit: Never mind, I Googled - was on "Refresh" - here is hoping they'll give it a physical release although I doubt it.

I didn't mind the rounded corners but that black bezel on top invading the screen bothers me so much  The vertical camera is also kinda ugly but I can get over it, and the improvements on the front camera (the back one too) were great  one of the most appealing things about the X to me tbh (that and the animojis )

I'm right handed and my finger still kinda blocks the camera sometimes, I don't even notice until I see a smudge/reflection on the bottom of the picture  I used to like the idea of these charging "mats" but now that I think about it it feels kinda inconvenient/useless

And yeah, FaceID + TouchID would've been much better. I wish they could've put the TouchID under the screen, but I guess with the current technology it wasn't achievable yet. I think FaceID (and some of the other new features) have a lot of potential, but since it's the 1st Gen they appear on, it's not gonna be that good, so idk if I would buy the X. Hopefully by the time I ditch my 7 these features will be more developed.

I'm kinda hoping there is a way to 'minimise' the app when running something thats full screen (such as playing a game or watching a video) as THAT will be annoying with there being a chunk out of it  Hopefully they can have that part just be black with the OLED screen so it's like it's not even there.

I'm also looking forward to fast charging - and since I have the 87W USB-C charge for my laptop, I don't need to buy one of the other chargers for it to work

I don't think it's out officially until next week, but I have beta access (not that I use the betas) so I downloaded the GM from there.

I have to decide what iPhone to buy. I definitely need a new one by the end of the year cuz my current one (5c, yes really) is showing its age. So I have a few options:

-I could buy the iPhone X, though it's pretty expensive and I'm not sure I buy into its value proposition (like, idc about portrait lighting and AirPower and all that stuff)

-I could buy the iPhone 8

-If I'm going to buy the iPhone 8, maybe I should just buy the iPhone 7 since they're so similar, and be done with it  

What do you all think? Right now what I care about most is the camera, since the iPhone 5c's camera is sh*tty and I take a lot of pictures. I think all three of them have the same 12MP?

You could buy the 7 Plus, which has a slightly better camera, if you don't mind the size. The 7 is also pretty good tho, and it probably doesn't have too much of a gap in terms of performance or quality when compared to the 8.
