waterfall 791 Posted January 23, 2024 Share Posted January 23, 2024 (edited) jan recap so far (minus the nugu groups i like): - itzy dropped their first listenable song in ages. untouchable just fits them idk. and it’s catchy. - nmixx cute but not for me ig. my fav by them still dice. run for roses a solid song tho and they sound good on it. - idk what happened to gidle anymore 😭 i used to really like them back when they did their ethnic music stuff like hwaa. Lion too was a banger at the time. nowadays they focusing on pushing a message more than the quality of the music. it is smart marketing tho, but i feel like there are ways u can incorporate both and make it work. their mvs, styling etc is always on point and gets better each time… their really strong in the creative department. that being said wife is not it. feel like they through a bunch of stuff together and called it a day. it’s catchy but doesn’t leave an impact on u. either way they’ll probably smash and the title track will probably be better. loved the wigs look in the mv. it kinda reminded me of the ones from stayc so bad mv. - the new hybe bg debut song was actually kinda cute. reminded me of early gfriend/seventeen ig. Nowadays the amount of listeners is the same as back on the early days, except these days the songs get more streams than back then ig. I wonder why the app declining so much tho I think it's because Melon has more competition now, especially from more globally popular apps like YouTube Music, Apple Music, and Spotify.
