Smoking makes your voice deeper too. I think the reason why she now has that deeper voice compared to her earlier works. Watch some interviews and her voice has changed and it became deeper. Not that I'm complaining I love how it sounds but it could be damaging her voice? 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶
Tycho 3,694
If you had 'technique' in your title instead of trick I don't think there would be this kind of reaction Economy's been a member here for so long and they're obviously not coming for Gaga's vocals. OT: I agree with you, it's really intelligent of her to do that without it being too obvious. She has incredible breath control anyway so she doesn't have to rely on it but it's definitely appropriate for piano, belting notes, let me show my talent moments. Nice find! And I hate to inform you that breathing is not only necessary for singing but also for like... living. Every singer does it to some extent but some tend to move their heads away from their microphones so it is less audible. When it comes to your voice live, you literally CAN'T cheat unless you use Auto-Tune live. Which leaves you with something messy like this: Yea, ew

Compare the voice of pop singers on their first record to the sound of their latest record. It differs greatly, even if you don't smoke and take good care of your voice. Beyoncé's and Christina Aguilera's voices for example darkened GREATLY since they first came out, despite them being non smokers and them generally taking good care of their voices. It just happens. What the OP is explaining here is how Gaga achieves those notes, it's not wrong or "cheating" to pause before the next note. Rappers take a breath away from the mic so that they don't have the insane amount of quick breathing in between verses. It's a performance, not a breathing contest. Speechless is one of the easiest Gaga songs. Thats what i think.

mee 381
Some of you talked about that her voice was brighter sometime . You all forget that her voice was very deep in summer 2009. It sounded sweet and powerful. She sounds now very clear and her dark voice sounds very rich, love it. But she also hits the high notes good. Hope she will use her head voice more in her pop music, for high notes...sounds wonderful. She is more intelligent and knows more about all the nuances in her voice. I hope for more stuff with her dark voice, love it People will also love it..it has class and soul...like she sings for example on Firefly.
androiduser 7,438
why is everyone turning the guy's question into something he never said or implied?? He didn't say she didn't need to breathe, he just asked if she is covering it up by doing a "routine" when she's taking a break. Seems to me like you don't like the answer, so you're taking the question out of context.
AlphaMonster 1,806
I agree with your analysis But I do not agree with interpretation of it. I think it is a smart way to keep your vocals under control, deliver emotions, and impress the audience rather than tricking.
