What's the meaning behind Alejandro video? There are so many opinions and I am rly confused.

The song showcases her sense of cynicism towards deciding if Alejandro (or any of the men mentioned in the song) are the one.

The 9 minutes video features a totalitarian imagery and a 1930-40’s era aesthetic. The hispanic consonance of the names referred to in the song might lead one to think it’s aboutFranco’s Regime. But it is also said that the video references the treatment of homosexuals in Nazi Germany. It’s all up to interpretation.

In the video she suffers from Tourettes which propels her to shout the name Alejandro at awkward times. We don't know why that particular name but what's clear is the fact that her poor life choices and horrendous bob made her a prisoner of a weird gay cult. There they dress her up in stupid **** such as a riffle bra and unchristian latex oufits and parade her around like a poor man's Madonna.The entire video is of course a metaphor about communism and STDs.

In the video she clues about Pro-gay movement, Anti-Nazi messages, and free mind expression. The Nazi's were to express the treatment that gay people go through. Many Gay people were burned alive by regular people. Just like the Nazi's did the Jewish. also if you watch when the guys were marching. The metal was a Jewish Star. Also when the boys were in the leather coats and doing the dance they had a badge on there right arm that was the Nazi's sign which had X mark through it. 

One thing you may be confused about may be, "Who is Alejandro?": 

Alejandro died because he was gay and was part of the military. She refers to the "Don't ask, Don't tell" law in the army. Once they found out he was gay they sexually abused him which led him to death. This happens in real life and she wanted to reach out to it. 
Plus, Lady Gaga IS Alejandro in the video, she is telling the story of Alejandro in the video. At the beginning she is holding Alejandro's heart at his funeral. Than she goes into the explanation of his death. 

Now to the "religious" aspect of the video: 

Some people say she is showing Illuminati references in the video because of the upside-down cross. Well no she is actually questioning religion. When I say questioning I mean that she doesn't thing some aspects of it aren't right. As you know she is Pro-Gay and as a catholic to be Gay is a sin and SHE is gay. Which leads to the end scene where she burns in Hell. There is so much to it but it is really hard to understand if you don't watch her interviews. SO thats really all I can explain about the religious aspect. 

Now on to the end: 

She is praying for forgiveness because HE (Alejandro) is Gay (Remember she IS Alejandro in the video) and you can't take back some sins. Which at the end shows that she/he died.

I actually thought that instead of the society oppressing gays, it was the church and christianity. Alejandro, Fernando and Roberto is the holy trinity and she wants Alejandro (God) to stop telling her that being gay which is who she is is wrong (translated to conscience and guilt).

My take? After she said it was about gay lifestyle, I saw the video as the gay movement militarizing for their rights. That's why she had shots of Stone-Wall and such. She's saying, "we're done with your **** and we're armed". They aren't asking for freedom and acceptance, but taking it.

The Queen watching over the male workout rehearsal thing? Observing her troops. The hospital bed scenes, embrace of gay lifestyle. The machine gun bra? Self-explanatory. Then the religious imagery is her believing in the faith of the movement. It is a community bound together, but also they are "crucified" by the actual Church which is why they are essentially gang-mugging her and throwing her and ****. It had dual meaning in the video.

 

I could be wrong, but that was just my vision behind it. It's my second favorite video of hers even just for the imagery alone. It's beautifully shot and composed.
