It's safe and boring, plus he'd never have been as successful if he hadn't toned down the gay. I do think Adam is superior in voice (at least he's not whiny and far more versatile) and he's more true to himself. Adam just can't seem to have real success in the States. I don't follow him much, but from what I get he does well in Europe and Australia. Not sure about other places. I think the label did him wrong in single choices tho. Lambert's Ghosttown went more of a deep house route, which was huge in Europe by the time of release.
