SychosSoChic 9,995
Do I need to say it again? Clearly I do. Did I want Gaga to win? Yes. Am I salty? For today and tomorrow and probably good amount of Wednesday, yes I am. But that is NOTHING compared to the disappointment and outrage I feel over his emberassing acceptance speech. 6 minutes ago, VforVendetta said: People in here need to grow up There's a certain feeling of shame when someone who could represent your community, one that needs representation as much as every other minority in this day and age, only brings it up when it's for his benefit. Sam has stated before he didn't want to be a representative for the LGBTQ community, and that's fine, but then don't you dare stand in front of millions of people worldwide and say you did it for me, or my friends, or the people you're calling immature right now. I also understand that people change, and maybe Sam does want to represent, GREAT, but that's a load of BS when you don't even know who Elton John or Dustin Lance Black are, or that the former winner of. Dustin Won in 2008, Elton in 1994, it's a google search away. 10 minutes ago, VforVendetta said: At least he tried, be proud of people that respect human rights and equality. He could could have just thanked his family and associates and walk away. I would much rather he had just taken his award for his love song, and gone to the very fancy afterparty and get drunk on expensive alcohol none of us could afford, in his designer suit, and pass out in his 5 star hotel, rather than disprespect the very people he claims to care about while taking advantage of his privilege, privilege he only has because of the work of the people he is blissfully unaware of. He benefits from the sacrifices of the very people he claims to care about, and he repays them and us in nothing but a hollow acceptance speech that he only brought up because he felt his win needed some sort of validity when up against a song like TIHTY that actually has a message. So no, I do not say "Congrats" to Sam. I say "Educate yourself on your history. Look up where you come from, because being gay isn't just stanning for Gaga or Beyonce." Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

If people in here are mature enought to put judgement against Lady Gaga herself (which they claim they are) they are mature enough to know when to step back and say a well done regardless of the outcome and their preference. Voicing our opinions makes us animals? Oh boy. This is not about Gaga losing the Oscar at all. When Sam won all those Grammys last year I wasn't going to "step back and say a well done regardless of the outcome and my preference." Maybe if I saw him in person I would say "Good job Sam" to be courteous but I am never going to see him in my life. I am under no obligation to feel anything about him. When someone like you comes along and says "congratulate him and stop feeling disappointed about your favorite artist losing an Oscar because only then will you be considered a mature human being" I would naturally be quite irritated at you. That's all.

I see uour point but again the fact that he can educate himself and become a more sophisticated supporter of the LGBT rights doesn't take his right of winning away or the fact that people need to respect the outcome regardless of their opinion. And don't take the fact that he supported gay rights in public lightly when there are so many people in the world that hate to death everything different. Respecting is a completely different thing though. Where you a Lady Gaga fan when she won all these Grammys back then in 2011> If you were you will remember what lack of respect of the artist means. yxi 4,999
Sam won because of the Bond franchise, his song is empty and stand for nothing. He doesn't have much merit.

Well I might have seen to some extend but the truth is that the last years there is more hate against Gaga herself than other artists. The thing is that it's stupid when you see so much meaningless hate in the forum of one of the most hated-for-no-reason artists ever.

You do understand that Hitler didn;t respect humanity himself (making your post misleading) so respecting him makes you a nazi and an admirer of the biggest murderer ever, do you? What you just did here: Heart is an organ. Guitar is an organ. A Heart is a guitar. Well done.

Next time Gaga is dragged here for mearly wearing the wrong shade of lipstick or gaining five pounds or wearing an open back dress, I expect to see you all up in that thread preaching your respect. The guy just made it, he sang a Bond theme and won the Oscar. Think of it, he is a very big Lady Gaga fan (like most of us in here) and yesterday he won an Oscar over her. It was his day and it's time for everyone here to grow up and give him a warm applause. Well done Sam Smith, may Lady Gaga always inspire you like she does with us. Edit: You don't have to agree with the decision of the Academy (I don't agree either) to be respectful towards an artist that managed to succeed. Grow up. I agree I totally understand Little monsters are upset she didn't win but hate the Academy not the artist for winning. Since Sam Smith is a little monster I think it's wrong everyone is dragging him. If I was Sam Smith I would be bawling knowing that the fan base I am a part of hates me it's not right just think logically about it. Love you all!!! <3 Mikey McCampbell

I am voicing the same opinion but actually I am not gonna waste my time to give sense to people that complain over a lipstic or a wig but I did try to put some sense to people that hate someone for achieving his dreams on the forum of LADY GAGA. It's such an irony.

They don't have the obligation to agree with it or like it but they have the obligation to respect it. I thought people in here would know better, lol.
