Iwontell 7,312 Posted February 29, 2016 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I don't think she cares...of course she wanted to help Diane finally win her Oscar, but she likes Sam and she knows she'll have other shots at it... To me, the whole night had the best possible outcome, tbh...she delivered an amazing, moving performance, she did great on the red carpet (she was beautiful, but out of the box - as much as she could be in an event like that), and the fact that she had a good song and still lost...all that translates into visibility and into likability in a way that straight up winning the award wouldn't... Let's just say that sometimes better than winning is having people thinking "she should have won".... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. She was still nominated, which a lot of people in the film/music industry hasn't achieved. She got to perform this amazing meaningful song that created a lot of buzz and sent the song up to Top 20 in iTunes USA, she is happy, I know that. An award doesn't mean everything. Just think about the ones whove won the oscar. The production won't choose another nonbritish because there are two british people whove won the oscar and they are the only ones.
