February: A Gaga Rollercoaster

February was a very high-profile month for Gaga. From the Super Bowl to the Grammys and the Oscars, we got to see a lot of her during the month.

She received universal acclaim after her performance of the United States' national anthem at the Super Bowl. She f*cking slayed it, I even watch it about 4-5 times a week because of how good it was.

She received very mixed reviews for her David Bowie tribute at the Grammys. The hype everyone (except Gaga herself) set for this performance was too much and I think many of us felt extremely underwhelmed at first, but realized how brilliant it was afterwards (this was the case for me anyway). While some critics applauded her for her tribute, others heavily criticized her for turning this into something centered around her.

It just happened, but I'm seeing extremely positive comments for her performance of TIHTY at the Oscars and she got a standing ovation. Many people in the room had tears in their eyes and I feel like she won the Oscars in this regard. The message she passed was extremely powerful and had an actual impact. However, she lost the Oscar, which caused extreme frustration for many of us (I feel like a part of my soul just crumbled tbh). At least, every single tweet/comment I read says she should have won.

So, how was the month for you all as Gaga stans? Right now I feel utterly destroyed and empty, but overall I think February was amazing for her, I think she kind of won the GP back and the praise is constantly coming (except for the Grammys :green:).

One thing is sure though: meltdowns have been had, tears have been shed and weaves have been snatched.

EDIT: Oh and we still have to wait for reviews of her Oscars performance, but I'm sure they'll be in her favor.

I'm just happy it's all finally over. I mean her collecting awards and singing covers/doing tribute acts/ being guest performer / etc / etc.

Now it's time for the big creative things I hope :flutter: I swear If she sings cover once again between now and LG5 I;m done lol

Couldn't have said it better myself. Little monsters will never forget the roller coaster of Gaga-uary 2016.

She stole the show once again :applause:

Looking on Facebook and I don't see one single negative comment. Not a single one :applause:

You're stinky

I feel destroyed right now, this is not how i thought February would end. I still enjoyed every single one of her performances, she truly is the best :ohno:

I agree, while the month has been great overall, I can't help but feel devastated. I wish we could've ended it on a triumphant note, but we can comfort ourselves with the acclaim she got at the Superbowl and the positive feedback for the Oscars performance.

you summed up Gaga's February perfectly and to be honest i think we should all be proud of the amount of time and effort she has put into all of these performances - they truly are some of her most career-defining moments yet.

nevertheless, it's been a crazy month, and like many, i'm not sure whether my heart is functioning correctly, because i have been so anxious, excited and nervous for each appearance!

like i have previously said though, with all of this spotlight, she better not let it dim out without dropping a lead single for her next album - people are craving it.

The reception to her performance has rightfully been overwhelmingly positive, yet again. I'm sure the critical reviews will reflect that.

In regards to the award... Her performance and the song definitely would've got more attention if she got it, but if we want to look at it positively it could actually be not so bad. She lost right after that show stopping performance, and I think the vibe is definitely "Gaga should've won". That could make her seem more like an underdog again, and people might not be turned off by her being the focus/winner all the time, as the GP tends to do.

We are at the triumphant note. I mean maybe she didn't win the oscar, but she's still winning this year.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

I think you're right. I'm always seeing comments saying "I'm tired of Adele/Taylor Swift, she's everywhere and always winning awards, she's so boring..." (not that I agree with these statements, I love Adele and I think Tay Tay has catchy songs). Every comment I've read says Gaga should have won, so I think it reflects the fact that people like her again and that people are not tired of her.
