I'm confused about how you could compare a girl wearing a short dress to the KKK. The KKK is an organization that has been around for decades and actually killed people because of their skin color, burned crosses in peoples' yards, threatened black people and white supporters of blacks, and have stood in the path of progress that can help people of color. The only good thing the KKK has ever done has been to speak out against the Westboro Baptist Church. So yeah, when you build a platform on spreading hatred, committing hate crimes, and openly being racist, that's not something that can be compared to the consequences of a girl wearing a short dress. At least a girl in a short dress isn't going out and telling people with different genetics that they don't deserve rights. The KKK is harmful, a girl in a short dress is not. And yes- their actions are legal. I agree that there shouldn't be consequences that end in violence, not matter how much violence the KKK has caused over the decades. It is wrong to attack someone for having an opposing viewpoint. That is the one thing about your thought process here I do agree with.

SychosSoChic 9,995
Like I'd be more than happy to let PETA rally, Hell I may even not attack them for throwing paint on my fake leather jacket. But KKK? The guys who would happily torture, beat me up and keep me around as a kitchen slave once they took my rights from me? Yeah forgive me if I enjoy watching the world burn just a little. For just a moment. Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

Im not sure if you seriously think im comparing a girl with a short dress to the KKK and I feel stupid needing to explain to you what was actually said.. I was comparing the immoral illegal action like stabbing someone and then blaming the victim and in this case, the girl in short dress and the KKK member that is stabbed are both victims and thats what comparable. I can compare something good to something bad to make a point without saying that the two things are equal to each other. Also, from what I know, the KKK are not harmful anymore and being racist is legal as being racist does not hurt anyone.. yes it makes you a bad horrible person but aslong as your not using that against me, you being a racist is not that bad specially not to the point of stabbing you. I get that you're not comparing the girl herself to the KKK itself. But still- comparing the consequences of wearing a short dress with the consequences of being in the KKK? That's like saying "Someone with a punchable face has consequences just like there are consequences to telling someone to punch you!" In one circumstance, one person is not actually instigating or projecting thoughts which incite violence and are hateful. I do agree that these people should not have been stabbed, though. That takes it too far. What they were doing is legal, albeit horrible and way behind on the times, but you're right- no one should have to die for their beliefs when they are not physically hurting anyone. Well the reason I compared a horrible thing to a good thing is to make the people im arguing with see whats wrong with what they said.. if I compared something horrible to another horrible thing, it wouldnt make sense to them. If I am going to compare two horrible things, it would sound something like this: "you cant tell the KKK there is consequences to being a racist, thats like telling a homophobe there is consequences to being a homophobe". As you can see, it wont work this way.
notamember 667
This is exactly why HATE GROUPS need to be outlawed in the U.S. To call it someone's "right" to rally around any hateful ideology is just dumb. That isn't freedom for anyone except that hate group. I do not think violence is ever the answer, but the KKK brings it on themselves. They should not even exist. Its not up to you to decide who is allowed to exist in this world.. real life doesnt work like your college campuses. People should have the freedom to have individual rights aslong as they dont use these rights against others.
