GagasFilthyPop 336
The general public seemed to not know that she had a single after Applause, maybe Do What U Want. The stans called it a flop because it didn't hit the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, or the video was and still isn't VEVO Certified on both music video versions. Besides having brief promo on ABC and having one small performance on a talk show, it never received the proper promo treatment nor a physical release due to Gaga firing her management. It peaked at #76 on the US Billboard Hot 100, #4 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs, #29 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40, and #115 on the UK Singles chart. It still remained in the US Top 150 iTunes charts more than a year after it's video release. It's only official known sales was in South Korea with 3,362 digital copies sold and has yet to have a Gold certification in the US. It had various amounts of radio airplay from around the world. Do you think it flopped or had an average amount of success? Overall, anything from ARTPOP should be laid to rest, unless LG5 is ARTPOP ACT II. What About Us 1,499
I've heard it on the radio quite a bit where I used to live. It had plenty of airplay. Promise I'll always be there. Promise I'll be the cure.
ThisGuyTony 31,081
I think some members in the chart thread said it was mostly played in the middle of the night or something on radio. But yes it did.
Phlop 4,773
Venus, MANiCURE or Gypsy would've done better. And it did flop. Not radio friendly at all. No chorus and confusing lyrics. The only saving grace is the KILLER production. You can say Aura/Venus/Applause have weird verses, but they have killer choruses, which is what everyone remembers in a song. GagasFilthyPop 336
I'm asking this because I have NEVER seen anyone (inside or outside the fandom) actually call it a flop, but only acknowledged it or not. Maybe because it was Gaga's powerful message against the corporate world blocked it from the hate. "We could be caught, we're both convicted criminals of thought."
