Wow, that is terrible. Poor Kesha, she's basically that ****ing scumbags slave. He controls every aspect of her career and life. Why the **** are these shitty contracts legal?

Contracts are very tricky. I feel bad for Kesha as well, but once you put your name on the dotted line its hard to get out of it. Its just so sad.. I wish they would let her go, but she signed her life away... And its nearly impossible to prove rape without evidence. Its just a terrible situation.

Not at all, just a realist who knows which lens to read out of when it comes time to read contract law

How are you realist when you confidently claim that she lies? Were you there?

I have seen quotes from both sony and luke stating she can produce her own music away from them, she she wants to do that AND still have them promote her that aint gonna happen and from a moral aspect she either lied in court or lied on camera cuz I seen testimony from her saying she wasn't raped(deposition) and that she was and Lord knows you cant have it both ways in that regard either

She has to work FOR doctor luke. He owns her. Even if she never has to see him again, contractually he will always make money off her work. And sony won't promote whatever they deem fit. It happens all the time with every label. And yes she lied because he was THREATENING her. Please go somewhere with your anti kesha thing. Nobody here wants to hear it.

He threatened her. Did you miss that?

Whether he abused her or not, he's guilty for thinking up such a disgusting contract. I don't understand how this inhumane arrangement can be legal. Surely the legal system would realise that such a contract is abusive in and of itself? It's like modern slavery. I heard about how Sony apparently made a release date for Warrior before Kesha had even written it, giving her only about 3 months to come up with something. That's unfair and ridiculous. I mean, there's being contractually obligated and then there's being forced. The mere fact that Kesha signed this contract while underage should make this case be over in her favour in minutes. Is it really so hard for a court to conceive of the idea that a 17 year old desperate for a record deal would sign any contract and that they told themselves at the time that their relationship with everyone on their team was going to be peachy? This predatory contract was specifically designed to lure in young, impressionable, aspiring artists and it shouldn't be allowed.

Well that doesn't necessarily mean anything. She could've been under duress as she claimed. Its hard for rape victims to speak out already.

The comments made in this thread by some users are utterly disgusting.  I don't recall ever reading such garbage on GGD.  But, you know what they say, there's a first time for everything.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

They are certainly tricky and disturbing. Once you sign on the dotted line...there's no turning back. Once artists sign their life away and sell out to the music industry, there's practically no way out of it. People talk about this "Illuminati" ****, maybe such a group does exist and have hijacked the music industry? Kesha is in a very terrible situation. I feel bad for her.

It's gotten really gross here lately. I blame Gaga being popular again so the trash bin on here is filling up :green:

No wonder Gaga doesn't bother with this forum ...reading certain comments here would make me do the same , especially for a Gaga forum :rip: I mean , even Gaga supports her and even made a song about rape and whatever abuse that the song can relate with yet some people didn't learn :rip:

Hope that Dr Luke roots in Hell and someone chops his head off asap if he doesn't free Kesha anytime soon

We Asked An Actual Entertainment Lawyer: Why Can’t Sony Help Kesha?

As of this moment, Kesha is unable to perform features on anyone else’s records, create any live recordings (even of other people’s songs), sing the national anthem on TV or put up an acoustic cover on YouTube without Dr. Luke’s explicit permission. Because Kesha is signed to Gottwald’s publishing company, she is also unable to make a living writing songs for other people (something she’s done in the past — “Til The World Ends,” among others).
If Kesha and I wrote a song together right now, I would own 50% of that song and the other half would belong to Dr. Luke.

No matter what she does with her career at this point, everything she does will directly benefit her abuser, regardless of whether she’s in the same room with him or not. The systematic sexual harassment and abuse of women in the music industry is nothing new, but Kesha’s situation is a very particular nightmare.

She sang Amazing Grace or whatever it was on Facebook though?

The new wave of "fans" comments make me sick to my stomach. They all think they know about these topics because they've read **** online, yet they are crude offensive and tasteless.

Agreed.  I just don't understand why people can't just keep their mouths shut if they know they're only opening it to spread negativity.  Like, haven't you heard of if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all?
