Especially since Kesha's mom said that Dr. Luke is deliberately withholding the songwriting royalities from her last hit Timber from ALL of the songwriters involved and tried blackmailing her (Kesha's mom) into giving up her songwriting credits.

The mind boggling thing to me is how a contract like that is even allowed to exist!?
I mean, even in my dumb country's judicial system an arrangement like the one she has with Luke would be annulled without much trouble...

True. She got herself into this, now she's using her fanbase and basically anyone to get herself out of it.

In everything you do there is a consequence. I understand that this contract is sh*tty but Kesha signed it. I am not talking about the sexual abuse but the contract itself. The law doesn't recognize situations where women or people who are controlled and stuck in a contract needs to get out and that should change. 

It's kinda like getting into a 2 year house lease with your boyfriend. He ended up beating you but then you can't just say I want to leave and and not get your deposit AND pay a hefty severance fee. Sure lease can be terminated early but it does have consequences and this is where it needs to change to help those who are in a contract against their will due to manipulation/ abuse.

This is a mess. Moral lesson is read contracts carefully and make sure you have a way out. If you are signing it with somebody make sure you know them well.

she was probably very young and desperate. Besides, have you seen what record deals are like? A normal person can't possibly understand what most of the terminology means, and have to hire lawyers to decipher them and negotiate them with the label for you. I don't blame her at all. Maybe she couldn't even afford a lawyer and didn't fully understand it. They're tricky as hell

Most disgusting thing I've read in a while. I really hope that Gaga gets to read your comments and feels just as appalled as I do.

Maybe one day, you will be in a similar situation. Maybe one day, somebody who you would have trusted with your life will screw you over so horrendously (despite those latent sentiments of your superior intellignece that shines through your statements) that you can physically feel your heart shattering into million bits of pieces. Its like when people sign 7+ year car notes...

I hope this is a lesson to everyone about contrancts...
