Both candidates are in this until the convention. Bernie supporters should anticipate being at a pledged delegate defecit until late spring. Super Tuesday will yield a huge number of  Southern pledged delegates, which will increase the lead for Clinton. She will excel in these first contests, and if there is room for worry, she will publicize endoresments. March 15th to late April will be advantageous for Sanders. The first states only give a story for pundits to spin. ( SC will be republican in the General, as will most of the south. Soooo no need to panic at all tbh.)

Sidenote: the turn out was freaking pathetic. Roughly 12% of SC voted. Democrats, as a whole, should be worried with low participation. Regardless of whom you support, plz vote.

America works through reform only through the continued perpetuance of the "We only work through reform." I can think of a number of examples in American history where widespread revolution across the country has enacted huge change rather than incremental reform – often what begins with reforms has ended in revolution and an altered system. I like to think that President Obama has been the "reform" part of that equation and Bernie Sanders is the "revolution" aspect. The American Revolution was precipitated by attempts on both sides to reform the situation. The Constitution came about after the Articles of Confederation. Slavery was "reformed" time and time again in how it took place and where it was legal with things like the 3/5th Compromise, the Kanas-Nebraska Act, the Missouri Compromise, the Compromise of 1850 – among other things. Revolution was the Civil War. This went into the segregation era, with the Jim Crow Laws and division between blacks and whites in schools and public places, before the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. The Progressive Era under Woodrow Wilson saw 4 amendments to the Constitution and the rise of liberal thinking in America. FDR, with the New Deal, swept the United States even farther to the left during the Great Depression. I'd say that was also a revolution, albeit as a result of the Great Depression. 

Time and time again America tries reform and then sees the entire system requires a revamp. There are times for reform, yes, but to say America runs on reform only is contradictory of its national spirit and how we've been built.

Little do most people know that the Socialist Party in America actually began to gain momentum in the 1912 Election, tracing back to Eugene Debs. He won nearly 1 million votes in that election. 

The United States can and does change, it has never not been changing. I think we are unique in that regard, particularly that we have changed so much in a relatively short 200 year period of time. Bernie Sanders is not as unique as many people are led to believe. I think he is more representative of American ideals than any other candidate in the race right now.
