So Gaga is still on thin ice

It has been apparent for a long time that, some members of the mainstream press have this inexplicable personal venom against Gaga, that has never been observed in any other pop stars. They obsessively follow Gaga's every move like watchdogs, and jump on every opportunity to grab any excuse they could possibly use to eviscerate her. They try their hardest to spin every narrative and blow everything out of proportion to destroy her reputation. That's how the Madonna debacle happened in the first place. That's how the Artflop narrative caught on like wildfire. Fortunately, Gaga hadn't given them anything to use against her since C2C, until the Bowie tribute finally made her an easy target again.

Maybe we shouldn't be too concerned with these pathetic souls. What Gaga has done in the past two years have turned most of the mainstream media around, and she's for the most part back in the good graces of public opinion, and that's why the Bowie tribute hasn't generated as big a backlash as it would have if it were three years ago. However, with these sorry excuses of journalists still around, continuing to do what they have always done, we could still be facing yet another Madonna/Artflop sized debacle for even a minor misstep Gaga takes. I'm not entirely familiar with how PR works, but I do think Gaga's team should pay close attention to these leeches and the damage they still could do to Gaga's career.

This is just what the press does.

For every one praising Gaga, there are two who trash her.

So instead of focusing on everyone who trashes her, we should be grateful for everyone who appreciates her work.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The worst thing she could do is to worry about it all so much, and coordinate her career to what the press thinks is great, then we would have something like Katy 2.0 or something.

Let them talk their trash. Like Seuss said, "those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind".

For every one person or "journalist" trying to shoot her down, there's 50 critics and legends saying she's the next great American legend. She'll be fine as long as she continues to go with her instincts and is kept on the good path that Bobby has set.

I mostly agree with what you said. They're exactly what you called them 'leaches'. But the PR thus far has been on point, so I don't think we've got a lot to worry about. Gaga should just be Gaga. Second guessing yourself is one of the worst things you can do. Whatever happened to the spirit of 'I'm a free bitch'? I don't think Gaga is extremely bothered by these things anymore unless it's a high profile attack led by negativity.

I dont know why our fanbase and in general pop music fans rely so much on acceptance and the need to be acknowledged by others.

During 2012 i was literally loosing my mind at the gaga hate. Its best to ignore, its best fot gaga to ignore too...

The only time i loose my control is when someone calls her "too ugly to be a popstar", "monstrosity" ... I remember thats what NME called her in 2012.

Gaga put herself in the firing line with the Bowie tribute, but she also did with the Sound Of Music tribute too. It would have either have received incredible praise, been mixed or entirely negative. They can write what they want to write, and if people want to believe and have their opinions skewed by the media rather than forming opinions for themselves, that's their prerogative. Let's face it, Gaga could cure the world of a disease and there would still be people bashing her.

For every day Gaga continues to be in the spotlight, even if that's for the rest of her life, there will be both positive and negative press about her. Sometimes the positive will outweigh the negative, other times the negative will outweigh the positive. That's just what happens when you're in the spotlight.

Anyone who's successful and who's had a nice moment recently (or is having a nice moment right now) is bound to have a handful of detractors...it's the way it is: if you get too big, you'll come on the radar of some people who won't like you.

You feel it's only Gaga bc you care about her...but it happens to everyone. I love her and I see it happening to her and to a lot of other girls I care about: Bey, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, J.Law...there are some girls that I don't even follow and I know they get a lot of ****, like Taylor Swift...

Gaga has had some truly worrying moments two years ago, but now she's pretty much on pair with everyone else...what's happening is that for the last two years there wasn't a lot of press around her, so people that gave her coverage were basically the ppl that liked her. Now that she's picking up ppl's interest again she'll get the attention of people who won't like a particular thing she does, a performance, an outfit or even Gaga herself...

...and going ape **** about it, as I see ppl doing here, will only feed the beast! It only makes trashing her a lucrative activity, because to NME, for example, there's no difference between a happy and an angry click...they both make the publicity spaces they sell more expensive.

I think this "going ape ****" comes from not being able to see things in the long run...maybe as you mature, you'll get it...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

I think she has been flawless for over two years now, and because of that we're kind of addicted to the praise. But she can't be flawless all the time so it's ok that this time around her work wasn't universally praised. The truth is: she could never win with the Bowie tribute, for the simple fact that she is mainstream and bowie's fans like to think of themselves as underground, despite the fact that his songs were great hits on the charts. Nevertheless, the response has been mostly positive, and I think what happens is that here at Gaga Daily any smallest criticism tends to be blown up waaay out of proportion and treated as "THE END OF GAGAS CAREER". It's like you're still so traumatized by the ARTPOP era that at the smallest sign of criticism you start crying thinking we're going back to 2013.

Whispering

You need to learn to ignore the five percent of the media and the Madonna stans/Gaga haters here. Just learn the names of the ones here and dismiss their opinions.

If she gets universal acceptance it probably means she's being too safe.  Gaga is at her best when she's "trying too hard", thinking outside the box, being overly ambitious, or just being her creative self.
