giskardsb 12,565
The context of the quote is that Gaga is involved every step of the process. I think she has opened herself up to working with certain writers she respects even on lyrics though. That's not a bad thing as long as Gaga still ha majority input. You & I was written entirely by herself, so were tons of her other songs but she just gives writing credits for the most minor of contributions, like with Bad Romance, she gave RedOne a credit for suggesting she add an "oh oh" to the track. Whispering 18,865
Gaga has allowed other people to come in and contribute to the melodies, but she writes her lyrics. That may mean that a few words or a line gets changed here or there in the process and she gives them credit. It's just the opposite of what artists like Beyonce and Rihanna do. They come in and add a few words to get credit, but Gaga lets others get credit for changing or adding a few words here or there. Elton is mainly a melody man. When Gaga stated this, she hadn't decided to work with Diane yet. Diane and Gaga writing lyrics together will be a departure from what Gaga usually does for albums. In fact, Diane usually won't write with other artists. They both are making an exception because they understand each other as songwriters and artists and they fully respect one another. Bad Bromance 5,809
Well, Gaga may have started writing her songs on her own but since she writes every day, or almost every day, there's a chance that Elton John and Dianne Warren are co-writing other songs with her that Gaga hadn't even begun writing when she was asked that question in that interview. The creative process is pretty intense, I'm sure, so don't panic. The album well get released when it's 100% complete. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me. ShockPop 7,747
Elton traditionally isn't a writer but a pianist and melodocist.
Jed 7,716
No she said she writes it herself she didn't say she writes it by herself. Multiple sources confirmed she's cowritten for lg5
Noam Zioni 1,196
Some of you misunderstood me tbh I know her writing process, I know she writes most of every song by herself, I know all of that I just thought that for LG5 she wants to write alone EVERY SINGLE WORD, and that's what I got from her quote.
