Music super-producer L.A. Reid makes several very personal revelations in his new memoir, 'Sing to Me,' but one is particularly shocking, even to the veteran CEO of Epic Records.

"I dropped Lady Gaga. Did I really just say that?" said Reid during Good Day New York.

It was 2006 and the pop sensation was far from a household name.

Reid says it is his biggest professional regret to date.

"I feel a little bad about it. I do. I feel bad. I signed her. She comes in, she plays the piano, she’s incredible, she sings,  I sign her, I tell her she’s going to change music. A couple of months later I say, ‘maybe I wasn’t right. Maybe I don’t like this so much and I make the biggest mistake of my career. I dropped Lady Gaga," said Reid.

The pair seem to be on good terms despite having ended their business relationship more than a decade ago.

"I saw her at the Grammys. She gave me a hug. It was really warm," said Reid.

She's forgiving and probably happy about it, it was meant to be. She wouldn't be the same artist today under his label.

VOLANTIS

Duh she already has Marry The Night video to remind him of his mistake. So she's served it well. Hug them all Gaga.

I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half

I'm sure he's still kicking himself about this HUGE mistake he made back in 2006.  Things happen or don't happen for a reason so I'm glad they worked out the way they did, tbh.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Whispering

LA Reid has talked about dropping her several times before, saying that is was a big mistake and that sometimes you just "miss it" as a record executive. It is hit of miss, and sometimes these labels make mistakes.

Gaga ended up with Jimmy, who was perfect for her! Even though she thought her world was ending when she was dropped, it ended up being for the best.

Gaga is smart and mature enough to look back at that time in her life and know that it wasn't personal and that it ended up making her stronger.

Hurt LA Reid more then Gaga in the long run

Sadly his messy label is known for its mess ups. Cher Lloyd, Karmin, Avril Lavigne. The only thing his label has not messed up is Meghan Trainor.

Well it can be argued that without him dropping her she wouldn't go on to become the Lady Gaga we know today. All of those songs, gone.
