To me it's like she puts on that style to make an impression "oh, look at me, I have a strong voice unlike other pop girls / I've got some pipes " which is rather pathetic if you ask me... Imagine her Dope vocals reverbarate on her next smash single in club... But often it feels forced and it restricts her range, like when she does TIHTY live and her voice cracks not so very nicely. There are significant differences from the NA from 2013 and the one form the Super Bowl (you can hear it at ’’the rockets…’’). Don’t get me wrong, I will still buy her albums and love her music with whichever voice she uses. I will stans for Gaga till the day I drop dead but I wish she felt more confident in her naturtal voice then the force ’’almost-like-a-hot-potato-in-her-throat’’ voice (super bowl NA at ’’the rockets’') Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I myself and plenty of other monsters love the DopeGa voice. I even prefer it to the 2006 performances (Electric kiss for example). It's nothing like anything we hear on a regular basis from other pop stars. Besides, making good music is not the same thing as making club smash singles. Well, kind of agree, I would like it if it wouldn't sound so forced most of the time (I'm ok with her Superbowl performance, her voice is strong but not forced so I'm with it). It almost sounds like she has the microphone up against her lips. That and the screaming. Other than that, she sounds good in the rest of the song. Dope vocals is when she sings with this tired, heavy tone/timbre (i dont know what to call it). It sounds like there is something stuck in her throat.
