I take it stuff people host in those venues are one-off things? They'll also usually only pick venues run by AEG/Live Nation Yes you can. You do not need planning permission for a temporary structure.

My mistake, looks like you can be there for 28 days before you need the permission.. An outdoor venue would still be cool, but its also a risky business venture, I think if Gaga was in control of her own tour dates then she'd probably be up for it but Live Nation have to calculate everything and be absolutely sure they will sell out the venue or come close to it
Killa 17,476
I don't think this is such a bad idea. And it would be cheaper renting a venue
MaryJaneHolland 77,348
and maybe in smaller countries.. i live in a state with 2.2M people, but the fact that she performed in even smaller countries got me like ... and ticket prices should appeal to the country, you can't have same ticket price in UAE and in smaller countries, too

You can't sell out a field, really. Issue 20k tickets and see how it goes. Logistics? Simple, a truck has been used before , open up one side and its a ready-to-go stage with some prettying up. Circuses do this all the time... On a smaller scale. Electricity isn't an issue, it wasn't for any festival. I'm sure am energy company would love to sponsor the tour. The only downside is security... But that's easily hired. Bare in mind that an audience of 100,000 paying between £80 & £35 per ticket with one shows overheads is far more appealing than performing 5 shows to shift the same number of tickets. One thing that makes this appeal is that the only restriction will be her own mind and budget. No venue size restriction, curfew etc. Another plus side is that instead of funding big venues, they can sell tickets to food vendors for a pitch. More cash for the tour, supporting small businesses, being logical. She could even spice it up and have a super impressive support act to appeal to casuals . Someone bigish in the relevant area. UK: Ella Henderson, Tinie Tempah, Rizzle Kicks or a reunited group. Appeal of opening acts is always overlooked.
