Things aren't good for Kesha

I have a feeling that Gaga might use her connections to give her a phone call. I would if I could, just to talk her up and try to make her feel okay. Especially if I had experience in the business.
I wonder what her contract is like. Maybe she should just pump out 6 totally **** records, refuse to do any promo or touring, and then get out of the contract. Maybe she could team up with Gaga and feature on a Gaga song. They could write a song together about this kind of bullshit and call out all the people involved.

Her contract is probably super tight though :(

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Seeing Kesha break down in court seriously made me cry.

I hope she gets the justice what she deserves and that pig gets what is coming to him!

In my messy era.

Didn't Kesha's lawyer say that Luke was the producer who raped Gaga when she was first stepping in? :wtf:

Yes. Gaga herself stated she was raped when she was 19. Which places the event some time in the year 2005.

2005 was around the time he started to produce for major pop artists.

I think so. But his first big hit was Kelly Clarksons Since U Been Gone from 2004.

Gaga had been working on The Fame from 2006-2008. It makes me wonder how much of that album is subversively about power and rape.

She already confirmed that they had very little interaction overall and only met once, remember when a paparazzi asked & later her management reinforced this? I think however it was Rob Fusari

Let me just say this - I'm very glad I live in a world where the court of public opinion has no bearing on legal cases and people are innocent until proven guilty.  Assuming a man is guilty of rape is NOT a part of feminism.  It's a very unfortunate situation.

Everyone is focusing on the rape part, but the lawsuit also talks about general abuse. According to the document, Dr. Luke threatened to destroy not just her career if she crossed him, but also her and her families' lives. It's kind of hard to speak up and very neatly have evidence of your abuse if you believe that doing so could hurt the people you love. And we know that he has shady business ethics, too, so the part about him refusing to renegotiate Kesha's contract after Animal came out isn't out of left field.

We can't prove one way or the other that Dr. Luke raped Kesha. Any evidence there could've been for this would be long gone, and if there were any witnesses, I doubt they'd want to testify against an influential man in the music business. But we know he was a factor in her eating disorder. Verbally attacking Kesha and her body image to the point that she develops an eating disorder is abuse, full stop.

The only way I can imagine Kesha getting out of this situation is if the negative press is so intense that Sony decides it's better to wash their hands of her entirely than keep her under Dr. Luke's label (because even if she doesn't have to record with him, she's still under his label and he still controls her musical output). But I doubt that'll happen, poor girl. :(

At least two other female artists have come out saying he trashed their looks, it's certainly not far fetched to believe Kesha when she says he did the same. The rest of it, such as bullying her into not speaking out, would certainly explain the lack of hard evidence. Being just 18 when signed would likely make her incredibly naive to the situation and what people like Dr. Luke are capable of, and she likely wouldn't have the foresight to gather evidence against him. My concern though is why wasn't her mother giving her advice on what she should be doing, especially after Kesha called her about having to go to the emergency room? Even if her mother was scared that Kesha would be hurt career wise if there was confrontation, why didn't she secretly contact a lawyer for advice? Surely her mother wouldn't be that naive?

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

That's why she sued him instead of taking him into criminal court. Suing him is not the same as saying he is guilty ?
