StarstruckIllusion 52,916
TL;DR: Imo Mark Ronson has little involvement on LG5, LG5 is right under our noses for a long time, she should stick to one genre and all this time might be a blessing AND a curse. I've noticed a lot of people down bc they see Gaga living her life and her seeming to not be working on LG5 at all, but dw bc here is why. Mark Ronson really did a good job making it sound like they've barely started LG5, right? like holy ****. But It's okay bc I don't think he has much involvement anyway by the sounds of it. RedOne is definitely the executive producer of LG5, he's talked about it so many times and was the first producer announced. Also you have to remember that Gaga is working with music producers, whose job it is to make music. Gaga does not have to be present in a studio for LG5 to get finished. Nile Rodgers and Phil Tan is on there too. These producers are making the songs themselves, like right this second they could be adjusting the attack on a synthesizer, and probably with email feedback with Gaga. So when Gaga looks like she's not working at all, she's still working. My point can also been made from the Born This Way demo. I listened to it for the first time today (lol i kno flop stan alert) and it clicked. Gaga's vocals sounded the same as the finished version, but the instrumentals were so different. That means the vocals come at the very first parts of a song tbh. All Gaga has to do is show up to a studio, record songs, and the producers work on it for months maybe. That 12 hours session Gaga had with Ronson, she could have sung the entire ARTPOP album 12 times, and since the internet exists, the variable of Gaga physically being at a studio is almost valueless. *goddamn it, a good but forgotten point was supposed to go here* Imagine how many songs Gaga has recorded so far Also, why do some people think she just started working on LG5 after she filmed AHS? Gaga started writing for ARTPOP only a few days after Born This Way came out. She said herself once long ago, she just writes music whenever she wants, all the time; a music writing machine. She has had over 2 years on this project, and at least one year of being in touch with RedOne and actually making the songs. Also, this era will start before July 2016, because Ryan Murphy says the reason Gaga might not be on AHS6 is because she'll be busy with career stuff, and AHS always starts filming in mid July. LG5 starting in the fisrt half is a safe assumption, no? Final thought: Gaga taking too long on LG5 might be a bad thing imo. If she makes too many songs, she'll have too many choices and is more likely to put trash on LG5 instead of a bop (i.e. Fashion on ARTPOP instead of Brooklyn Nights). I know this kinda goes against what I said earlier, but The Fame Monster is Gaga's most acclaimed album to date, and it had the shortest production run out of all her albums. It;s choosing like ice cream flavours, if you have like 5, you'll have an easier and better chance of picking the flavor you want. Now imagine picking from 30 flavours... would you be more likely to choose incorrectly? just playing devil's advocate here, sorry if confusing. idk just some thoughts. Also I hope Gaga chooses one consistent genre for LG5, and not a mix like ARTPOP. If you try to please everybody, you please nobody. I have no time for JnD, MANiCURE and Fashion lol, and im sure a rap fan would have no time for the other 13 songs on ARTPOP too. lol this took over 20 minutes smh Do you agree with any of my thoughts? I rmb in an interview gaga said she takes all the songs after they are almost finished by the producers and then make changes herself (e.g. add strings...) before the final mixing. tbh I think shes gonna get married first before releasing the album and put all her energy into promoting it plus the tour. You definitely have a major point to bring up. I hate that certain people thought she was producing and writing after AHS. She's been working on it for quite a while now. I know she didn't have one consistent genre in ARTPOP, but I love it anyways. However, I wouldn't mind some diversity and variation in LG5. I'm the type to listen to all types of electronic music and not just one certain type. It bores me to just listen to a set genre all the time. Promise I'll always be there. Promise I'll be the cure. What About Us 1,499
Actually, I've heard influences of industrial, funk rock, Hi-NRG, electroclash, electro house, dubstep, techno and even some opera and mariachi on BTW, so I wouldn't say it just has only disco, rock, and electro in it. Promise I'll always be there. Promise I'll be the cure.
Joshie S 6,187
I agree with most of what you say. She's also a perfectionist, so if it's not exactly the way she wants it, it aint gonna be released. Now that she has more freedom with what she can produce, it's gonna take a lot longer, but yeah Monsters need to calm down a bit thinking she hasn't been working on LG5. Elton John said he'd heard two songs, that's two complete songs... who knows how many more are done. Also, I don't think your judgment about what songs that are "trash" is very nice... what isn't nice to you, might be nice to someone else. The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥
tomsches 17,436
No real musician and Artist would let the producers do all the work and compose all the songs and would only show up to record their singing I would want to be present when my producers produce the songs for the Album i am releasing with the songs i have written. I thought it was implied that Gaga would never . It goes without saying she will have heavy input on the record's sound, but bc of the internet, studio visits should not be as hyped up as they are. ARTPOP is easy, and tbh i dont like that. The albums flows beautifully somehow, but i blame that on how Gaga paired the songs up with the same pitches. Aura and Venus are the the same key, just like GUY/Sexxx Dreams, MANiCURE/DWUW, Fashion/MJH (JnD) too and Swine and Applause (but they're not side by side on the tracklist). They're just diff genres in the same key, and you tend to gravitate to one and learn to dislike the others.

I've binge listened to different styles of music enough to detect what it is I'm listening to. To me, ARTPOP is simple and complex, I think. Sure, some of the songs are in the same key, but I like its futuristic and retro production and I enjoy the messages she relayed through the songs because I relate to some of them myself including Swine, Mary Jane Holland, Do What U Want and Gypsy. Naufri 7,424
I think that simply we don't know what's gaga doing all the time. Maybe she's in the studio when we don't know, maybe she may be working in her home. We are on the always connected era. In 2001 Björk autoproduced Vespertine herself in her home. Gaga in 2016 doesn't need to be phisically in the studio, and be working or at least supervising. She only needs to be in the studio for recording, and maybe not even for that.
