We are fans of Gaga the musician, vocalist, and artist. We are not necessarily fans of the pop industry or pop music in general. There are more people like you and the ones you describe out in the real world, than you will find on GGD. This forum is a very narrow slice of fans. I don't think that those that fit in that particular demo realize that there are others that aren't looking for what they think everyone is looking for. Even if she doesn't, Gaga can still continue to make music, entertain and perform for as long as she wants to. Look at that girl in your avi. Her last two albums haven't been successful. Is she still making music? Well whatever i aint here for over protective fans, i WANT her to do well and slay.

The real world isn't living and dying on how some pop star does on radio. They really and truly don't care! They have absolutely no idea how long it is between eras or when artists are planning to release or not. If they hear a song on the radio, or on an awards show, or on a commercial and like it, they go looking for it. If some artist is coming out with new music they are interested in, they look into it. That's as much thought as the average person gives to new music. For every stan that fits a narrow demo picture here, there are a thousand casual fans out there, ones that wouldn't fit in the GGD box. GGD IS a minority. It isn't an accurate reflection of the real world.

Pop is only one of the things at which she excels. I want her to succeed because it would make her happy, but I don't care what genres and venues (such as Broadway, movies, etc) she may use for her future success. So I disagree with those who say she needs pop music because it is what she is good at. She'll do pop if it makes her happy, not because she needs it. I live outside the space time continuum. It isn't an accurate reflection of the real world. Exactly, GGD is a niche audience. Rock is by far the favorite music genre according to Nielsen. Pop, R&B, and Country are each at around 15 percent, while rock is around 30 percent. Gaga has only a fraction of the pop fan base. And GGD is only a fraction of Gaga's fan base. I was, and in some ways still am, part of the GP. The public likes whatever catches their fancy at the moment. If they hear something catchy on radio, they'll listen. If they caught Gaga performing the Sound Of Music tribute, they liked that. They don't care about the things with which GGD members are concerned. I live outside the space time continuum. SamJ 8,008
Well all my friends who aren't proper gaga fans all say how much they miss her songs being in the charts and how much better music was in general around 5 years ago lots of people seem to think that pop was more fun then and a lot of that was down to Gaga's influence
SamJ 8,008
I loved cheek to cheek and her acting in American horror story and her performances but I think she has a great opportunity to have a massive comeback in the music industry now with some new songs. Gaga's creativity and amazing talent made a world of difference in the industry. You mention "fun". In an early interview about Just Dance, Gaga said she felt people needed a song that was fun. Yeah and during the fame and fame monster era in particular people in the UK were kind of depressed because it was at the peak of the recession and Gaga's music and other popular dance songs at that time was an escape for a lot of people

No more experimental, weird, unconsistent stuff (aka ARTPOP) jk but seriously, she can't fail this time, her career depends on this album. I agree with this to some extent with all this good publicity she has a great opportunity to have a massive comeback with new music
