Was a fan of "Just Dance" since May/June 2008 and then loved 'The Fame' album later that summer. But once the "Poker Face" video dropped and I saw this scene it was OVER.

I go way back. My fiance's band used to play gigs with Semi Precious Weapons, so I knew of her back in the day. I really became a fan after hearing The Fame when it came out. Back then I was still arguing with people that she was actually a women because I knew she was Stefani. Impersonating her as a full time job came by total accident a couple of years later.

When BR dropped, I was blown away.  NOTHING sounded like that.  It was a little scary and it was right around Halloween and it was so perfect.

A friend of mine made me sit through a japanese TV show because he's obsessed with Japanese boy bands and Gaga was on it performing Just Dance. The filmed her marching into the srudio with dark glasses and a hooded top.

The performance was great and I was so impressed that she sang live. She wore the video screen glasses and had one eye made up Clockwork Orange style with about a dozen false lashes attached. Before that I had only thought was really interested. Poker Face was playing frequently on Swedish radio, but at the time I thought it was pretty generic.

But that performance of Just Dance made me a stan intstantly!

Okay, time to tell my favorite Gaga-related story. It's really not that interesting, but I enjoy talking about it so w/e. :D

I first heard of her when she performed Poker Face on American Idol (which, btw, it's been 7 YEARS and I am still not over the fact that she had a high fever and did so well), and I couldn't explain why (aside from the fact that I just really enjoyed the performance & thought she was talented), but I was drawn to her. Like, spend the following 3 hours just watching interviews and performances and music videos drawn.

I don't think there was exactly one specific moment when I converted to a "stan" though; I think it was gradual. I just kind of realized/admitted to myself later that same month that, somewhere along the way, I had become a teeny tiny bit obsessed.

I have been checking her stuff out since bad romance and bought all of her albums but was never quite sure until I heard the church bells and the first line of her Marry The Night performance at the EMA. Together with the outfit and settings and I thought I was in heaven. I was so drawn into that performance when the fireworks explode.

I was a fan of the first wave of singles from TF ala Just Dance, Poker Face, and LoveGame and thought "who is this musical muse of a woman that came from another planet and made this infectious music?!?!?!?"

This in September of 2009....VMA...Paparazzi...an ICONIC moment happened that shook the pop world forever...I died and was reborn a Little Monster that day...

It was a late night YouTube binge that did it for me. I was on the weird side and the video for 'Eh, Eh' was in the suggested videos bit. Decided to watch it and then I wound up in a downwards spiral: video after video, song after song.

It wasn't until Applause dropped that I really became a fan. It was completely unlike anything that was being played on the radio and it was my first real 'hands on' experience with pop music and the attitudes people take towards it. I can't really compare the wait for ARTPOP to the wait for LG5, but if it's anything like it is now then I'm glad I joined in that era...

I didn't like her with Just Dance, thought her name was stupid. Then Poker Face graced my little ears, and my bussy instantly popped. I listened to it like literally 40x a day, played the cherry tree studio videos so often, and she just became more and more important to me. I think something that solidified me was Bad Romance, and the video for it. I was scalped for life from the video, and it was so amazing and never before seen I had to sell my soul on the spot.

Gagadonna

I started to like her between Paparazzi and Bad Romance. Me and my best friend of that time used to learn and repeat the choreographies of her biggest hits. We listened to her all the time and we made fun of ourselves with the "paws up" thing (which had no name at the time).

I became a fan with Born this way (album), which was when I found out I was gay and I came out. I kinda assumed my identity through the album (Born this Way, Judas, Scheiße, Marry the night). I became a stan with ARTPOP, which is the time when I fell in love with her, when her biggest weaknesses were exposed, when she was fighting her inner demons, facing severe critics, etc. She as a human being really touched my soul and since then my view of her has definitely changed. I'm not seeing her as an enigma pop star (is fun she wears burqa for fashion) anymore but as a woman with her own sensibilities, limits and greatnesses.

An old friend of my loved her; I heard just about everything pre-Fame Monster, including the interludes. Honestly, I thought she was a black girl or a big girl. Her voice is so big for such a tiny girl. I didn't pay too much attention until the 2009 VMA's when she bled. It was so dark, and so beautiful! I was hooked ever since.

My jaw was dropped during the entire performance.
