danceinthedark1206 25
It's one of the biggest surprises to the people who know me well that I am an insanely devoted and passionate Gaga fan because I don't listen to the radio, go to the movies generally, watch TV, or engage very much with American pop culture. But here's what happened: I was in Athens, August 2009, in a boutique and I heard an AMAZINGLY infectious and creative song that wowed me (life-changing moment). I just couldn't place it and I was on such a whirlwind trip in Greece that I was so busy it never occurred to me to Google the lyrics. It stuck with me though, and in December of that year, in a taxi in Berlin on the way back from Amsterdam, I heard it again-- PAPA, PAPARAZZI. Ran straight to my computer when I got back, figured out what it was, and immediately became enraptured, watching the video for that and Poker Face on YouTube on repeat. Found out that she was singing at the Nokia in my hometown LA when I was heading back to the States a few weeks later, begged my dad for tickets, went and saw her for the first of my six times on December 23rd 2009 and THAT was the beginning of a nonstop long love affair! <3 <3 <3 PAWS UP. TerrenceV2 2,001
When I heard and saw the Poker Face music video, that tanned chick in the platinum bangs really caught my attention, since then she has been my biggest idol. playground love - josef salvat

Her Sound of Music tribute made me slightly interested and then I watched a bunch of random interviews and I immediately became fan. She appeared to be brilliant and genuine. I like what she stands for. WOW it's fascinating to know people that became fans during her non-pop era. Queen of appealing to every genre :'( playground love - josef salvat
Lord Temptation 11,209
Around the time Gaga released Alejandro in 2010, I decided I needed to hear everything Gaga had ever recorded. Monster was the first song I listened to. That was it. It was like my soul talking to me. In a way, I was always a Monster, but just didn't know it yet. Arcane 208
It all began on the day I listened to The Fame cd years ago. I remember bopping to Just Dance, Poker Face and LoveGame the most. Then VMAS Paparazzi performance and later TFM blew me away and so on. I finally realized that she's multi-talented, creative, ambitious...and a true genuine artist who takes her craft seriously. My respect for her even deepened when she spoke at the National Equality March, I was moved. Love Trumps Hate
Shu Rin 64
Seeing her perform on SNL wearing "The Orbit". That was my favorite outfit she ever wore for the longest time cause it looked so fun to wear. the VMA's happened a bit after that and that solidified me as a fan. President Trump 3,508
I heard just dance lyrics and thought they were interesting when it first came out , months before it hit number one, and I looked it up and it was like number 80 on hot 100 and had been released for months already so I thought it was lost cause. But then I saw poker face video at one point after, still while it was not successful, and I really was into it. I am glad that I really liked her music before it became popular, because that shows to me that I liked her for the music alone Ma ma pa pa pa
AgusPop 4,162
I'm a guy with a very rare taste in music. In pop music, I only liked Madonna but mostly because I'm gay and in that time there was a "rule" that the gays had to be fan of Madonna (I know, it was stupid and I'm not fan of Madonna anymore), I like a lot ,Classical Music, Opera, Musicals, Sarah Brightman and Andrew Lloyd Webber. In summer of 2010 (in my country) I heard a strange song on the radio with a weird lyrics, like Rah rah ah-ah-ah! Ro mah ro-mah-mah Gaga oh-la-la! I thought, it is weird but fresh at the same time, I had not heard anything like that and with a glorious melody!! I had met Lady Gaga for the first time!! But, after a while, I found this video in YT and Lady Gaga caught me in a Bad Romance since 2010 and I think she is Amazing, unique, and a Living Legend. rivingtonreb 438
I fell in love with Gaga back in 08, I'd hear her on the radio all the time. Ended up finding her on MySpace and listened to her playlist there which had most of The Fame on it and I'd listen to her EVERY SINGLE DAY until I bought the physical copy. GOH sweetie
Sunday 2,183
My family liked Gaga first I think it was around the Poker Face era. I followed 3 years later The turning point was when she performed Born This Way at the Grammy's. I was watching it on TV but I was like "that's Lady Gaga ??! and are those horns ?! ". I only thought it was weird at first, but a curious soon-to-be lil monster was already BORN inside me at that time. So I made a lot of research why majority of my family loves this bitch so much. I watched her performances like at the 2009 VMAs, which I pressumed that everything from that point on became a little too weird. I also watched her interviews and DAMN that bitch can talk smart. But I had to admit, not a single thing she did that I wasnt mesmerized. But the best thing I like about her apart from her music, videos, and stage charisma, is her guts. I love her guts, her bravery to fight for what she stands for. Thats why I became a stan. But to answer your question how I felt when I fell in love with her, I wanna admit that I already did fell in love with her during that Grammy performance, but the only feeling I had at that time was being weirded out. But lo and behold, she drops the Bad Romance video and I was in awe. I felt like I was witnessing smething truly iconic, one of those rare pop culture phenomenons. Needless to say I became a fan and now I actually do like some of the songs from The Fame. I was the same. When i 1st became a fan i would only listen to the acoustic versions of her songs. But eventually i started loving the original versions as well.

Nero 860
2009 was when i was really into Gaga, i remember that i bought The Fame before Christmas in 2008 and i wanted to hear how her music sounded and i thought "meh, she's alright", but when i really fell in love with Gaga was when I watched the Paparazzi video in full for the first time. I remember when i first saw the Paparazzi video i was like "WTF IS GOING ON", during the intro and i switched the channel, but when i actually saw the video in full, I was amazed by the art direction and the theme of the video. Plus what really won me over was when she released The Fame Monster with the darkness of the album, it was just amazing and I bought it when i went to my sister's house for the weekend but she kept the CD (She actually bought it ) but it was just her musical direction in The Fame Monster that won me over with Bad Romance, Monster, Dance in the Dark, and So Happy I Could Die. As i was growing older and listening to more of her music and actually listening to what she stands for and the Born This Way album completely made me a monster, my respect for her is just never ending for being compassionate, open minded, and caring.
