Ever since her resurgence I have seen a lot of hostility towards her from literary every other fanbase (even the ones that usually wouldn't attack her). If you remember from TF to BTW all fabases were always attacking Gaga because she simply destroyed everyone in impact, popularity, and sales. I guess they are starting to feel like Gaga might overpower everyone again. Here is a pefect example of what I am talking about (Rihanna fan): "It started with the whole being named Billboard Woman of the Year in a year where she did not have an album. Then buying that Golden Globe award and getting nominated for an Oscar for a song you did not write. There was the singing of the national anthem at the SB and trying to get folks to write it was better than Whitney. Finally, having her perform the Bowie tribute. Well, the Bowie tribute backfired because quite a number of people did not like it. I normally have nothing against Gaga but she and her machine this year are really ticking me off. Music isn't a competition so anyone who feels that their fave is being threatened is childish and relying way too much on a celebrity/artist for their own happiness. I don't think they could feel threatened for now as there's no idea on when an album could be out, it could literally be in 10 months... And we don't know what she's preparing at all and the kind of music it will be... So no need to feel threatened for them... Same for us, it's hard to see who will be threatening for Gaga.. After a three year wait, they are probably frustrated and turning their anger towards another artist who is getting attention and accolades. So it's not new, it's not exclusive to Gaga and it doesn't stop anybody from having nice moments...it comes with success - other ppl being jealous is an inherent part of doing well... It's all misplaced self image and ego. That includes Gaga fans "threatened" by Katy or Adele or Taylor. Threads like this perpetuate the bad behavior. What I love most about this is they make outlandish claims. You can't buy awards otherwise she would have received the effing grammy for TIHTY!!!! Why do you need an album to be Woman of the Year??? She is a woman in music and she released a song and did so much more than everyone else. If All You Ever Do Is Look Down On People, You Won't Be Able To Recognize Your Own Weaknesses.
