Yeah, all of that was factored in. Her radio increases were still way off for the reception from the listeners...and that included streaming.

You are going to be unraveled when Katy drops her next album, if you get this worked up over legal payola. This next era is gonna be a blast! :yay:

did she even promote them:rip:

B'Day had one stream at BBMAs from her tour after which it went to #13 on iTunes

TIHWD was never performed:rip:

Katy hasn't even replied and this thread is on its 13th page.  The female MJ's impact on a Gaga fan forum.  :applause:

GGD will have to continue to seethe over Katy's success in other ways.

Yes, she had a lyric video and full length video for both songs. All the usual promo resources that goes along with labels sending songs to radio was used.

The songs failed because listeners didn't like them. It's as simple as that. The call out scores weren't good and they weren't selling on iTunes like what's expected for the radio play that were getting.

promotion plays a major factor in a song's success

don't expect radio to effectively carry out a song into T10 based on airplay alone

Promo is certainly part of the overall picture. You need radio play, more than anything! There are lots of songs people buy like crazy that they haven't seen performed on any show. Promo spots are temporary bumps, radio play is what creates constant, steady  success.

Female MJ? Poor MJ rolling in his grave right now... And it's not like Katy will admit her being a bully or whatever if she replies, she will obviously defend herself / deny it, in case she'll reply , I don't know why are y'all so sure that what Katy might say might be true :toofunny: or in general if the accused person says something in defense or deny something doesn't necessarily mean that it might be true :rip: it's just common sense

without promo, its rare for a song to push a song to Top 10 alone

you might not remember but the single time she "performed" BDay, it rose to nearly T10 on iTunes

Fun Fact: Did you know OctaHate was produced and co written by Benny Blanco, one of Katy's producers!!!

Yeah and I think Ryn said after that night he didn't plan on working with Katy ever again. Or maybe it was another guy.

Radio play can easily push a popular song to the top 10, if the listeners are liking what they hear.

Nearly T10...that's the point. Even with two videos and tons of radio play, it didn't and it didn't consistently stay high enough to warrent the radio play it was getting.

Awwww. That's so cute of you to support Katy Perry (she'll need it). She's done quite well hasn't she, given the circumstances? No flops (so far) in her career.
