Just because Ryn is a small act doesnt mean this is impossible, they'll still attend the same events, they'll still likely work with the same people, this is all entirely possible. Katy had a giant debut, her pop debut had millions of sales which is VERY rare, Ryn debuted with 30k sales which is pretty impressive. Sales are still not important to the actual issue at hand though... Why is song writers relevant? Nobody mentioned that. Why do you have to have the ability to write a song to be good at singing? Roar did well, Unconditionally flopped, Dark Horse did okay, Birthday FLOP, This Is How We Do, FLOP. and her backup dancer got more attention than she did for her very artificial and prop heavy Super Bowl performance. I just think people are over her and the industry is moving towards a trend of artists actually have to be talented to be successful. I think the war with Taylor did her in honestly... I mean, let's be real here Meghan Trainor won a Grammy before Katy did and Taylor has 10 including two AOTY awards. I believe Ryn because Katy is not a musician, she's a mean spirited poser who is in it for the success and money and not the craft- I think the Grammy board sees that too which is why she hasn't won music's most prestigious award even though she can sell a **** ton of singles.
