SISTERV 3,887
For LG5 would you rather have: - Like Adele's 25. Pros: One of the highest selling album debuts of her career (2 million -3 million) with a massive lead single like Hello that dominates(bigger than Bad Romance). Cons: Because so many people have purchased the album, there is no need to buy more singles, leaving the era with one big hit, the possibility of only 2 or 3 singles, and less music videos. -or- Like Katy Perry's Teenage Dream. Pros: Not everyone owns the album at first and let's the music speak. This allows for a longer era with 5-7 singles and the album achieves strong numbers in the long run. Gaga achieves multiple number one hits (IE: 4 or 5 #1s, 1 or 2 Top Fives) over the course of a year -18 months, and we get more music videos. Cons: The album debuts at moderate numbers(200K-400K). Many non singles aren't heard of making it more about "specific big hits" and less about the entire album concept. This might alienate the GP. The singles can be easily pirated if Interscope doesn't do a good job in making them unavailable on streaming services. So....should do you want big legendary album sales or big singles/"event" videos?
Dorothy Gale 7,575
I think I'd prefer the longevity of an era with 3-5 #1s and the album sales will catch up eventually.

And even those stand didn't buy G.U.Y.
manyatyau 262
I think gaga is more of a single artisit.. she sees herself as an album artisit, but she really isn't.

Thank you! I think you can have a concept record and still have big singles....which is what TFM and BTW were. (I wouldn't call The Fame a "concept record" as it dabbled into everything). But ARTPOP was messy because of the singles mess. People liked Gaga's music videos to be events and Applause was but after that it got messy with DWUW being cancelled, and ARTPOP, Venus, G.U.Y., MANiCURE being shoved into one montage. The Fame Monster sold so much because of the singles. Born This Way was her first big debut open, which to many was a disappointment because of the choice of singles. (People wanted Scheibe, Government Hooker, and Bloody Mary more than TEOG, Y+I, and MTN...not to mention the let down of the edge of glory and Judas' early leak) ARTPOP sold low albums but spawned a long lasting single Applause and a sleeper single DWUW. The era dissolved after Gaga failed to deliver singles. Obviously Gaga's albums do well when her singles and music videos do well first.

And then the GP can BOP to the singles for the rest of their lives

ShockPop 7,747
If she has a big album, singles will not do as well. If she has big singles, the album will be boosted by it. You're asking if we want the fame or born this way.
Naufri 7,424
Well pull a 25 is almost impossible, I prefer a big album with a good but not massive start, and 2 or 3 big, or at least medium size hits.
