Question about interaction between Gaga and Nile at the end of performance

Nile has his arm raised above his head and his fingers are clenched into a fist. Gaga just stares up towards his hand for a few seconds and then stuggles to reach his hand until Nile gives in and lets her have it. 

It was strange but are they showing us a metaphor for Gaga taking the torch? Like she has been initiated by Nile or something?

I think she was just trying to hold his hand and like bow or something... lol I don't think it was that symbolic, no offense.

Let's try not to reach over something as small as this. Afterall, Gaga was paying a tribute to Bowie, why would she want to do something as shady as that during something so special to her heart?

That's actually the first thing that came to my mind but I highly doubt it. Although it did look really weird
