Release of Anti did it work and would it work if Gaga did the same with LG5

Some people are calling anti a flop others calling it a groundbreaking success that most artists will follow in the future. Should Gaga take any inspiration from rihanna's latest tactics

I don't think Gaga should follow Rih's tactics. I also don't think she needs to follow Adele's and exclude streaming services, or make it an Apple Music exclusive or anything. She's gaining her popularity back and respect as an artist, but she needs to make sure everyone has access to the next album. That being said, I don't think she should go full-out ANTI with it because you know she'll get dragged to hell and back 8x worse than Rihanna. I think she should just do a full out traditional release, including physical, digital, and streaming all at once.

And no more of those promo singles. Just release the lead and maybe the second single before the album and keep the rest for the album release day.

Release three singles one year before the album, and then scrap them saying "they are just random ass songs" and then say you're gonna release the album week after week, but never do, until one day when everyone is over the fact you have an album coming out; you release a single and album the same day on the worlds worst music platform, and don't even include the first three singles?.... Groundbreaking, indeed.

No where close to a success, lmao. And no, Gaga shouldn't ever do anything similar to it. I'd rather she sells less than one million copies than to get a certification undeserved.

If you delete the extreme gap, the singles that don't happen on the record, and the accidental tidal leak. Yes.

The surprise museum announcement to introduce imagery, the strange interactive videos with itty bitty hints, furthering the aesthetic, and informing the sound. Then announcing a tour that starts VERY SHORTLY after the album drops (very TFM of you RiRi). Releasing the lead then 2 maybe 3 days later the album, with no dates given. The team knows the dates. No countdown. Nothing.

just suddenly floodgates of promo GO

iTunes banners, Times Square adverts, TV commercials... And an aesthetic for the music videos that doesn't follow in line with the gaga version of the Anti diary but rather gives simple nods tying everything together.

its all about cohesion

Critically it's a success and it got people talking due to it's unusual release. It may not have the sells like other releases on a similar scale but personally, I think it's a success! It's a good album.

How in the hell would Anti's release be an example to follow...? It was the messiest release in recent music history (up until Kanye set a new precedent in terms of cataclysmic messy release)

What unusual release? It's like there was no release plans. The only reason people kept talking about it is because the record was weirdly not dropping, how is that a good release strategy....?

But I agree that in the end, it's a really decent album though. Thank God for that, it's really the least we could get.

That's what I meant by unusual :green:

Bette Davis

Mess. No. It's getting a little exhausting with everyone trying to release their albums in a new innovative way to top the release before them. I hope she just releases it like normal without "exclusive" restrictions.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

It all seems so gimmicky.
