Has Adele Moved On From WWWY?

Artists do tours between albums, even when they come out more frequently than every two years. Lana had plenty of time to do a tour after she released her last album, especially since she wasn't doing any other kind of promo. When she did tour, she did a one hour set....one hour! She doesn't want to be bothered with performing for her fans. She doesn't want to spend the time and energy it takes to do promo, to do performances or to tour. Stop making these silly excuses for her. 

That's what you want then, just albums and no promo or performances, interviews or tours. I'm glad you found an artist to meet your needs. Others look for other qualities in artists. They want something different. See how that works? 

I struggle to see how you see Adele as mediocre. You struggle to see how I find Lana mediocre. See how that works? Eh, I don't care for her lyrics of her melodies. You can think they are some brilliant lyrics, but I don't feel the same. See how that works? 

More excuses. They invade because you allow them to. If **** bothers you that much, do something about it. At 26 years old, you should have enough maturity to do what you need to do to make your world a comfortable place. If you have some kind of OCD and it freaks you out that much to hear a song you don't like when shopping for groceries, then do something about it! No one cares if you are "antisocial" in a flipping grocery store. Most people walk around talking on their phones, looking at their phones or are concentrating on remembering what they need to pick up.  At least you would be quiet and wouldn't disturb people...and it should only be for when you hear song you can't stand to hear. What's going to happen in a clothing store or a grocery store? Lol Get headphones that aren't noise canceling, then. 

I know, but I can't find any evidence of her actually saying that she didn't want to. It was just stated somewhere that there wasn't going to be a tour and we drew our own conclusions from that.

You have to realise that for someone like Lana, tours are going to be at very small venues. Which means that at the end of a world theatre tour, she'll have spent a lot of money and not got much back. It's a lot to ask to do a performance for less than 2000 people every other night for months and you're earning peanuts. And because she did her first big proper tour with The Paradise tour, she's probably exercised almost all of her touring demand, so needs to rest up. I mean, she played at arenas in some places. After the surprising downturn with her next two albums, she's probably feeling really wary about touring and doesn't know if the demand will be as strong. A lot of artists in her position are the same. It's not easy when you're not a commercial heavyweight. It's not an excuse, it's common sense.

Well, I'm also a Gaga fan, so of course I have other tastes too. I admire different artists who have different ways of working. With Gaga, she's all about promo and tours, so I'd be disappointed if she gave all that up because it's one of her raison d'etres. But Lana...for her, it's all about putting out music and everything else is like an appetiser - nice but not essential. But because she's always been like that, I have no problem. But because putting out music frequently is her thing, if she started taking massive gaps between releases like Xtina (although after all these albums, she deserves a break), I'd be disappointed. I just struggle to understand why someone wouldn't want their fave to give them music frequently. I can only assume it's because music isn't a massive force in their lives.

See, I thought Adele fans and Lana fans would be natural bedfellows. They're both about classic melodies, stripped-back arrangements, standing in one spot and letting the vocals take you on a journey (not to mention the reclusive element). Yes, I may not be Adele's biggest fan, but she has plenty of good tracks. But there seems to be Adele fans who can't admire Lana for the same things. I think if you love Adele's melodies, you'll worship Lana's. Hers are just majestic sounding and take you to another plane.

For the last time, I don't want to walk around with my ears blotted out to things around me. I have to get into a specific zone to listen to music, not when I'm doing other things (which is why I don't listen to music as background noise, I sit back and soak it up in peace). I don't see why just being a bit annoyed by hearing a song I don't like a lot of the time is so unreasonable.

Some of her choices are baffling me this era. Where is the WWWY music video that was supposed to be out on Monday? Is the live video the official/unofficial video at the moment. I'm sorry but to me this album, and era just comes across as a money grab tbh.

I think Adele released 25 to coincide with the tour, and to ride 21's success even more. The album grew on me, but I have the same problem with it that I have with ARTPOP. The replay value just isn't there. With AP I think I listened to it for 6-8 months before I got tired of it, but this could be because of SwineFest or leaks, but I don't think I've listened to 25 in full since December, and only one or two songs are in semi-frequent rotation when I listen to music.

This, along with the wacky decision to ignore her current single at the Grammys in favor of an album track makes me question Adele. I could understand this more on a morning show or private setting, but if you're performing at the Grammys, you should probably stick with your current single. The performance of All I Ask just didn't feel right to me. The audio quality, along with the fact that Adele served some of her most middling vocals ever confused me, the entire performance looked unrehearsed.

I just don't like Adele the way I used to. Something feels so calculated about her current success. What was once a phenomenon has become an algorithm. It seems like her "no gimmicks" gimmick is no longer applicable in today's current music world where autotune is no longer heavily employed and indie rock and acoustic songs top the charts.
