VOLANTIS 16,406
Little Monsters drag Gaga harder than the GP tbh. I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half
Katharine Hepburn 4,607
This is literally the only place I've seen people trashing her performance. I thought it was amazing until I came on here xoxo Joanne

It would have been cool to see FameGa paying tribute to David Bowie because it would have felt more authentic and less try hard and desperate. But it also would get backlash for Gaga promoting herself rather than Bowie

I think the performance would have been better if it was more emphasis on Gaga, herself, paying tribute to Bowie in her own style rather than trying to emulate Bowie's look and voice. She could have really slayed some of those songs if she sang them in her natural voice. Still, it was a great performance but I wish it was more Gaga because it did become a little more of an impersonation than a tribute. Bingo on all points, and to add to that, only do two songs where she can settle into the vocals and touch the greatness of the song, not rush from snippets of song to song. Glamourpuss 29,062
At first I thought the same way. But on second thoughts, I think it was a beautiful idea to have Gaga look like Bowie and sing and act like him because she was channelling him. It's like his spirit or the essence of him was living through Gaga and she was putting on a show as if she was the man himself. But also, as said previously it was a way for her to show that she is cut from the same cloth as Bowie. That they both have the same stardust sprinkled into their souls. And the show was beautiful. Her dancing was incredible! Who knew she could dance like that! My only negative comments are that I was expecting something more phenomenal with the Intel technology. And... I would have preferred if she had focused more on just 3 songs and not so many. Because I'd love to hear a fuller version of some of them. Especially Space Oddity. I personally loved that she went for the impersonator look - mean, it IS Gaga after all. Plus I thought it was totally appropriate. But vocally, I would've preferred if she sang more naturally. Wanderlust 96
I see what you're all saying, but Gaga is a visual artist so I think it worked fine and was appropriate. If someone like Lorde dressed up as Bowie it would have been strange, but this is who Gaga is as an artist. Fashion is part of her gig.
MelbHawker 6,583
Bowie was famous for his distinct look though. I hate the 'Vegas' criticism.. it honestly makes no sense. She celebrated David and his art/music. It'll forever be remembered as the Bowie tribute because of her look. All the criticism needs to die. Her fanbase needs to stop paying attention to petty sh*t. Slayer 9,227
I guarantee you if Gaga had stripped it back and made it more about HER tribute, rather than an 'impersonation', she would have been criticised for making it all about herself. Let's face it. Anything she did was going to be met with criticism. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
REALITY 76,585
I'd sort of have to disagree with that. I actually loved the "impersonating" look she had. It was a nice tribute to Bowie, and other people who think that she's just mocking him obviously didn't do their research to know how big of a fan Gaga was of Bowie. They're practically the same person. 𝔊𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔟𝔶𝔢, ℑ'𝔩𝔩 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔫 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔪𝔰
