where exactly are you getting this "influx of negativity from the gp" from?  Ive read far more positives esp from sites like Rolling Stone, Time, LA Times, Popcrush etc that are praising her.  Some even saying that it was the highlight of the show???

I don't know anything about Bowie so I can't comment on if it's good or not.

It didn't wow me like the Super Bowl or the Oscar Sound of Music that's for sure.

It's sad though, she was so passionate about this project.

sigh

let me go back to watch her Super Bowl and hope for the morning news

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

The gp would have reacted negatively to any tribute. The bandwagoning with Bowie is unreal. Right now he's incomparable in the hearts of most casual music fans, so any artist that stepped up to cover his work was in for this.

I'm not really feeling the 'influx' of negativity from the GP re: this performance. As far as I know, the general consensus among the media is that she nailed it; vocally and musically.

The only negative thing .. Intel's 'groundbreaking' technology. Intel... were you even there?

I know some huge Bowie fans who loved the performance. And really, who else has a unique and alien sort of Bowie-like persona other than Gaga? She was a great choice.

What influx of negativity are you talking about?

I'm looking at twitter, facebook, and media outlets and I seriously see 95% positive comments

I don't think she is getting that much negativity form the GP. All the negative comments come from his "fans". David Bowie fans are not really the public that consumes pop music. Most of them disliked her already and it's probably only because she is a current pop start. They are those kind of people who hate all current pop music.

yeah tbh everyone who's hating on it probably wouldn't have bought her music anyways, so i don't really care. she didn't have that much time to rehearse and nile rodgers, someone who'd worked with david, created it, so.......

I've noticed that it's the Bowie stans who are giving her a hard time, which is understandable, since you can never please stans (this site is an example). Other than that, she got a standing ovation from the audience & plenty of praise from just about everywhere else.

No one is going to love every single thing she does. Sometimes she'll be critically acclaimed and other times she'll get mixed reviews. I thought that's something we've all learned very well by now but apparently not.

Go to the NewNowNext facebook page. People are saying it was a slap in the face to Bowie because they believe hated her in real life.

The only negative comments seem to be from ageist Bowie fans who wanted someone from an older generation performing (Annie Lennox, Iggy Pop and Trent Raznor are often mentioned). Otherwise the acclaim is near universal.

Get off of ATR and PawsDown and you will see that the large majority of comments are positive!

Some people here live for the drama so much, that when there isn't any, they just make it up!
