Borislshere 52,679
I think People would have loved it if they witnessed it there, in person. I don't think it showed up to well on tv
Ferrer Zorola 3,966
the real defense should be: too much technology would cause a Gaga backlash since it would be considered selfish and Gaga-centered instead of Bowie-centered LIFE IS GOOD
latina twilight 2,319
I just hope someone there recorded it because I'm sure the televised video didn't make any justice to the light effects. 9 minutes ago, venusian said: this site is full of entitled brats i dont even know why i bother with ggd. it was a ****ing tribute not a gaga performance. Sexxx 5,531
It couldn't have been too elaborate, there was barely any time to incorporate some of the more complex stuff they might have had planned before the Bowie tribute was happening
hELXIG 41,607
It's very clear that they cut a lot to keep the tribute to David Bowie tasteful in his honour. Obviously they had some technological clothing that was scrapped in favour of Bowie outfits. Try cut them a bit of slack, she changed the performance from ground-breaking technology, to a tasteful, yet still incredible and elaborate, performance. People who weren't as hyped as us would have been absolutely blown away! I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
andy232000 9,870
as i´ve said it before, yes it is very complex, but if it doesnt look advanced nor complex on camera and tv, why even bother. only people at the staple center saw it how its supposed to look. in tv it looked washed out and flat. the reason everyone was saying it was unlike anything ever done its because they worked at the rehearsals and saw it there. viewers on the other hand saw nothing but a 2D color splatter on her body, when it was actually a 3D hologram. i blame it on the poor camera blocking rehearsals

Mr Ricky 8,960
They didn't look beyond what is going on behind the tech. These people probably have NO FCKING CLUE on how hard it is to bring technology this far. A CHOREOGRAPHED PIANO? I swear to god, if you don't fcking call that the future, you must be out of your damn mind. People here are expecting a future you see on Star Trek smh. Yoro 566
I was very disappointed with the technology used too. Intel overdid the hype so I thought there would be holograms or some sort. However, after seeing the intel x gaga BTS, i thought the technology was actually cool. It just looked simple so thats why i was disappointed. Perhaps if they filmed the whole ceremony on 3d-capable, panoramic cameras, but even then, viewers would need Oculus Rifts/Google Cardboards/whatever the Samsung version is called to experience the effects properly! PaperIz 7,308
I think the tech was amazing but you just don't realize how amazing by just a piano moving and some effects but a lot of work went into it. After watching the behind the scenes video I appreciated it more Human generated art

While it is undeniable that the expectations of those who frequent this site were not met--no, there was no holographic piano, no butterfly dress--it is equally true that those expectations were to high to have been met anyway; the technology required for fans' expectations simply do not exist yet, or are not reliable enough for inclusion in a live performance. What we DID have, however, is some very impressive LIVE face-mapping projections and choreographed robotics (the piano), in conjunction with some very impressive 3d movement tracking and live-rendered animations. The an unimaginable amount of processing power and technological innovation was required to achieve those effects, and I'm pretty certain that the technology showcased tonight will prove to be indispensable in future live music performances. Finally, let's all congratulate Gaga for a heartfelt, passionate tribute 23 minutes ago, jezze0410 said: General consensus on this site seems to be that people were underwhelmed by the technology aspect of Gaga's tribute, and that Intel's involvement has been overhyped. Also, it wouldn't have been nice to make the performance all about the technology and not about david
