evgenigerm2 4,056
Gaga herself and her vocals and choreography were groundbreaking. She did the impossible the honour her idol in a beautiful way. However, the technology wasn't something special. The face projection in the beginning was amazing and inspiring but a shaking piano... Really? I loved the Bowie's portrait at the end too, it was amazing! „I allow myself to fail. I allow myself to break. I'm not afraid of my flaws.“

Greg 6,330
If Intel hadn't hyped it so much, I probably would have been incredibly impressed, but after the performance finished, I was thinking 'is that it?'. The performance was amazing, but the excessive hype from Intel made me feel there would be so much more.
Rabbit Heart 617
I couldn't detect anything new or groundbraking. SO done with this shity collab :x
High King 640
No, but the projections were cool. I'm sure the people at Intel worked hard and they're proud of whatever it is they're trying to do, but they reeeally overhyped the technology. REALITY 76,589
The performance itself was amazing! Gaga did an incredible tribute to David Bowie; her vocals were awesome, the energy was great, almost everything about the performance was stellar. And... I say "almost" because I wasn't completely blown away with Intel's technology. I did think that Gaga and Intel over-hyped their technology. Don't get me wrong, the robotic piano and that futuristic face hologram in the beginning were awesome; I can definitely see Gaga using those two things on her LG5 tour, but other than that, the technology itself was okay. I honestly was expect more for the amount of times they hyped that up. 𝔊𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔟𝔶𝔢, ℑ'𝔩𝔩 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔫 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔪𝔰
Mister Gaga 22,913
Not at all i was blown away by Gaga's impressive vocals and by the fact she was really energetic. But intel's technology was a huge disappointment imo. I was expecting WONDERS (because they hyped the performance like crazy). I thought she'd perform inside that cube idk...they can do it better. Benji 20,113
If all of it was done without it being announced prior, I would have been impressed but they basically just showed us various things that's been done before and in all honesty, better. The "face mapping" didn't go that well, I assumed it was just a bog standard projection and Gaga's movements weren't as accurate as they needed to be (which would have been hard anyway). The moving keyboard was pretty nifty but nothing revolutionary. Other artists have used props that move. The backdrops? I could take them or leave them, I've seen better in actual person. All in all, I think the tech side was disappointing but they couldn't have made it OTT as it would have taken the spotlight away from it being a tribute to Bowie. IllumiMark 974
Gaga was amazing, I loved the looks. However the technology used was a huge disappointment. I expected something "unimaginable".
TheFamousLM 635
The only part I could see technology was during the projections on Gaga's face. The piano was tragic. Gaga did great but Intel was just tragic.

Like, many of the things that happened onstage were way more difficult to achieve than what you guys might expect. In the end, I'm glad the technology didn't totally overshadow the performance - for a tribute, that would have been tacky. I'm also fairly sure this is just a beginning - Gaga and Intel are far from being done. This. From a technological standpoint what they did was awesome. It seemed like the were using holograms and making them float around Gaga, even come out at the audience. That's pretty huge. I'm hoping I didn't see something that wasn't there, but that's what it looked like. How many live stage shows have we seen where the artist was manipulating holograms? That is a huge feat and has a lot to offer for performers. Edit: or was it just a basic projection? Now I can't tell ughhhhhh
PoshLife 16,983
My guess is that there was a lot lost in the translation (of us watching it on a tv/computer screen). Towards the end it looked like things (holograms? I don't know) were flying around her and reaching out into the audience. I've never seen that done before that I can remember and am not really sure how they did it. I also read somewhere that the big rings on her fingers were actually controlling the screen? That's kind of cool, I suppose. And the keyboard moving around was interesting, but I'm not sure what that was for. Intel or Haus of Gaga should post an article somewhere explaining what the different things were. Cuz it seems like a lot of people were underwhelmed when they clearly put a lot of effort into it. I think it was more technical issues and over expectations with their own technology. Someone just pointed out in another thread that there was no real manipulation like in the promo video, however the use of it in the promo shows the movement being very accurate and slow compared to Gaga's movements. The facial projection would have been better if there weren't minor tracking issues as it looked more like your average projection over something offering live tracking? Basically, I think they overestimated the power they had to track Gaga's face and rings? Which is odd considering they would have had a full tech run but I guess if their set-up was short then problems can occur with accuracy. All in all, it was impressive but the tech that did work has been done more visually impressive, which is sad as this could / should have been better. Nemo 4,293
I'm pretty sure I have seen things projected on faces before. I liked it, but it didn't really seem like a major part of the performance. I was left assuming that they must've left out some of what they'd planned before they switched it to being a Bowie tribute.
