LastNight 5,941 Posted February 15, 2016 Share Posted February 15, 2016 It's all part of it, she'll be so buzzed about and have so many fantastic recent performances under her belt that she'll be perfectly set up for her new music to smash, so it doesn't matter too much that she's not performing anything new at these high-profile events. Plus, there will be plenty of opportunity throughout the year for performances what with late night shows, probably SNL, probably the VMAs (do you think it's too early in her career for her to get the Video Vanguard award? Because that would be epic) AMA's and lots of other promo spots where she could appear. In the UK I'm personally hoping and praying for an X Factor performance (maybe also BGT finale show as well - depending on when she releases) and a Radio 1 Live Lounge again, because it's been way too long since her last one and she can perfectly show off her wonderful live vocals there. She reinvated her image and imagine what will happen with new music out.There will be other events that she will be able to promote her material. There's no rule on that. And the Oscars are not really a platform for artists to promote their own work at anyway. They don't have musical performances from any act, it's either performances of songs nominated that year or tribute performances. The fact that Gaga is there two years in a row is very uncommon but unless she does something else related to a movie this year she wouldn't be invited back so it isn't losing out on anything regardless.
