NewYorkCity 10,536
Well, what about Liza? Seriously tho, Europe has always been there for Gaga. We will jump on her **** as long as she releases a smash hit and makes little promo here. And don't think that people here don't know about all those things she has made in the USA. Last week she was all over the news on TV, radio and newspapers because of her SB performance. Tomorrow she will be there again because of the Grammys. And, believe me, she will be everywhere once she releases a single.
eifulien 2,969
Well Europe is a qestion mark for Gaga, but we can be sure that she will not underperform in no way. Europe has had a more balanced reaction to her career imo (obvious in the 2013-2016 period). What I mean is that ARTPOP didn't do that bad. The bad press was definitely in the US. Applause was good, DWUW was definitely a radio hit. I've seen GUY video even top the airplay charts on the music TVs in my country. So it wasn't the tragedy that the US press tried to make. But after that she's gone completely quiet here. Sure the media reported the Oscar performance, but almost everything else remains in the fanbase's knowledge. The things she did to change her perception in the US don't have a lasting effect here, but considering she didn't suffer a lot from a backlash during ARTPOP I guess with a good promo schedule for the lead single and then the album itself in the big markets - UK, France, Germany, Spain & Italy - she will get back on track. But she really needs to be present here, not only on tour but also during the album campaign. Her merits and performances may be a click away now, but the average person won't care to do it if he/she isn't pushed a bit.

boobtank 9,090
I was at a party the other day (I live in the UK) and they were discussing gaga, then one person said that she doesn't make music anymore.
GagaMyBlood95 9,915
I think she has enough fans and support in Europe tbh. She should focus on Australia with the next era definitely, it's a big market and she lost it with the last era...
gagzus 16,046
If she makes anything dancey she's safe because Europe still loves EDM music whether it be Dance, House and Electronic R&B. If the album is disco like it seems it will be she may have to work harder unless it's disco-dance ala Confessions

Dominic 11,922
She's not as big of a force as she once was in the UK so she will need to promote effectively once the album drops but she typically does anyway and Bobby will make sure of that. For those saying Europe typically follows US and like whatever they do I have to disagree, a majority of the biggest chart toppers in 2016 are UK/Non-US artists. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
Guest
Honestly, if the song and album are good, she'll be fine.

But looking at iTunes across Europe, I see many many many manyyyyyyyy American acts doing well and I know they aren't promoting that heavy. Notably Justin Bieber. Im not saying you're wrong, but I do think American acts are still largely global by default
atemybrain 2,077
Remember she performed at the 2015 European Games, and Europeans see all of her headlines and performances. I think she'll be fine.
TEANUS 15,311
Europe still loves Gaga, and I think Australia does as well, but, even more so than other areas, they require promo to hear new music. In America and Europe, it seems a single can still get played a good bit without substantial promo, but, like I said, it seems like, unless you're a starting artist, one-hit wonder, etc., you NEED to promote British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
