Jessica Lange back in AHS after her play done ?

Full casting has been announced for Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming revival of Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Long Day's Journey Into Night. Directed by Jonathan Kent, the production will run from April 3-June 26, with opening night set for April 27 at the American Airlines Theatre.

Colby Minifie will play the role of Cathleen the maid, joining a company headed by Oscar and Emmy winner Jessica Lange (American Horror Story) as Mary Tyrone, Golden Globe winner Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment) as James Tyrone, Tony winner John Gallagher Jr. (The Newsroom) as Edmund, and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) as Jim Tyrone Jr.

The design team for Long Day's Journey Into Night includes Tom Pye (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Natasha Katz (lighting), and Clive Goodwin (sound).

Roundabout presents Long Day's Journey Into Night in association with Ryan Murphy, the producer of TV's Glee and American Horror Story.

It sounds like Jessica Lange will be free after June. AHS is in production from July to December. Do you this Jessica will return ?

If she returns, I'll be a little dissapointed. I know she's great for the show, but I'm tired of her, especially after freak show. She always plays the same character, with the same story line.

I loved Hotel but yeah it's not the same without Jessica. I would love Gaga and Jessica Lange to meet in AHS !

I feel like they would mesh perfectly. I could see them playing mother+daughter so well.

I did not miss her in Hotel tho, I do not picture her playing any of the season's characters, not even The Countess. She lacks something that Gaga had that was perfect for the role.

I'd rather the spotlight given to Angela Bassett and/or Kathy Bates.

They deserve it, their acting were really good and steadfast throught the franchise.

yeah she was definitely not made for the Countess, she was too bloody, daring and naughty for Lange... She could have had her own character though

The actress that is most likely to star the show in a season without both Gaga and Jessica is Sarah, IMO. Ryan seems to like her.

I don't really care if she comes back or not, all I wish for in the next season is to have the story and characters more streamlined so that the writing won't suffer. Asylum was the best for a reason, and that's because we get to focus on all characters on all episodes and fleshing them out more is better than getting all the big names and giving them trash scripts (ehem, Freakshow). Jessica is always a joy to watch though

THIS. Although I was really, really pleased with Hotel when they finally changed it up. Even peters was the craziest murderer with that fricken 50s accent instead of a misunderstood love interest which was awesome. And Sarah Paulson was a crazy 90's drug addict with all kinds of strange hobbies instead of the weak - strong - weak - strong kind of familiar, relateable' characters she usually plays. 

If Jessica does come back though, I'd love to see her play something strange, unique, and maybe even weak and pathetic. No more strong-willed, blonde haired, white women with a dark past and flaming temper. No more!

But I thought she left AHS because she was done with it though, not because of scheduling conflicts. I vaguely remember her stating that she had done all she could with the show and wanted to move on and finish on a high note or something. Something about them always wanting her to top her previous roles and her getting tired. She then said she missed it and was contemplating returning for Hotel, but obviously decided against it. (which was when they tweeted that Gaga was going to be killed by a very familiar face, which was stupid hype, because I was on pins and needles all season anticipating Jessica to come in and kill the Countess)

Not to mention that they did a whole segment on her for the behind the scenes of Hotel, showing her amazing she was because she was acting two roles side-by-side every day, Hypodermic Sally and some normal woman (very different character) in another show. They obviously adore Sarah and know that she is a real talent! Which she is lol, remember Asylum. She's amazing when given the right script!
