Google image search "gates of heaven" and find the proof yourself. So the concept is to be oblique and obvious? That is not what fine art is about at all, which is what Kanye tries to pass his works as. And also, representing heaven as the typical clouds in the sky has become kische and cliche, so it really lowers the value of the artwork. I'm not saying he can't make a videogame having his mother as the leadeing role, or even about her transcending to heaven, just...don't be so obvious about it because then what could've been something interesting ends up being really...um... flat. If anything this is the closest to fine art a pop musician has been The ceiling of the sistine chapel isn't famous for it's emotional nuance and complexity At any rate though you still don't understand the beauty of the piece which makes me wonder if you have any place to even be debating this. What makes it interesting is Kanye's reflection seen through the polygons of the game. It paints a picture of how much Kanye West loves and misses his mother. Vulnerability and real emotion from a man who would have the world believe he's completely bulletproof, drawing Kanye's ego into question as a defense mechanism instead of an actual personality disorder. He doesn't have a "soft side", he's a soft person trying to live in a hard person world.
Iwontell 7,312
I like how it looks...it might not be a real game, but more like one of those emotionally rich interactive experiences, like Journey or Everybody's gone to the rapture...I think it's a great move, cuz games are really becoming the new "cinema", it's very forward thinking of him... I can definitely see music videos presented in the form of an intricate digital landscape for you to explore for the duration of the song...like, imagine if Gaga wrote a song about her childhood and you were allowed to explore a reconstitution of her childhood bedroom, with all the pictures, posters, etc., for the duration of the song...think how deep of a connection she could achieve with that...or a song about the end of the world and you get to digitally experience all the destruction...I really think we're headed that way (not saying Gaga specifically will do it, but that in the future, specially with the incredible graphics we have now, this is so happening and the possibilities are amazing)... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

He's imagining a world where the selfless act of raising a child is repayed with the "heaven", the idea of heaving being a place so beautiful and immaculate that mere humans can't even comprehend it. It's not glamorized, it's idealized. If being idealized is a wrongdoing than I guess every artist in history is a terrible filthy person You're arguing with dumbasses lol. Rolling Stones + Andy Warhol's cover says hi, Velvet Underground says hi, The Beatles's Sgt. Pepper says hi, even Gaga with the louvre exposition says hi. I mean, sorry, but what Kanye did is mediocre at best. And though it is a matter of opinion and we may differ, when it comes to the art world, it does fall flat and unidimensional. It is....uninspired. Rock On and A Last One For the Road 🚬

He's trying to pay tribute to the most important person to ever be a part of his life. Using his creativity to explore just a few more moments with his mother. You can try to erase Kanye West's humanity all you want but at the end of the day he did this out of pure, unconditional love for his mother. If you don't think that the love and respect a grown man has for a lost and sorely missed parent isn't the most beautiful thing there is then you're obviously not mature enough to understand the subject matter in the first place and explaining it is futile anyway. Go play call of duty or something. However absolutely do not try to devalue this work of art because you don't understand the love and honor and beauty of it, because that love is something forged in the deepst hell a man can experience and it's powerful and it's real whether the artist expressing it is a megalomaniac or not. Thank u for this!!! Kanye really loved his mother and still does. While growing up it was only him and his mother and they loved each other so much. I still cry every time I hear Hey Mama, I feel his pain through that song

Well....you can use big words all you want...but this still looks like a cheap disrespectful gimmick in my book to come off as having a soft spot. He wants to respect his mom, but then he disrespects someone's daughter in this same project (Taylor) by saying he made her famous and that she owes him sex. Not to mention he is disrespecting his wife (a mother) by saying that, and his daughter, by suggesting women are sexual objects that can be used for an "innocent humorous line" in a song. gurl please!! don't change the subject just because u r wrong. Nobody was even talking about Taylor

What kind of logic is that? Also, I lost my mom and I'm still mentally ok. I don't feel like it's necessary to make my dead parent famous. Well, guess what? Not everyone's relationship with their parents is strong. Not even as close as Kanye's relationship with his mother, that was pretty much her hero. And of course, u don't feel like it's necessary to make ur parent famous, like, let's be honest here who r u? Nobody knows u neither ur dead mother #RIP u r probably just trying to forget about the dead of ur late mother, some people just never fully recover from something like that.
