She means her next next album cycle will start around Spring 2018. (Writing) Her managers already said her next album is coming out LATER this year.

 

If she waited 5-6 years to release an album who knows what that would do to her.

Actually this makes a lot of sense for Katy. I think she's burned out. She needs a few years of rest and chillthef*ckout. I feel sorry for her, she's been worked like a work horse. It's gotta be exhausting. I hope that her next album shows a huge evolution for her as an artist, and allows more of her authentic artistic voice to emerge.

It often wonder how nice it must nice to have so little to worry about in life that the one thing that presses my buttons is a multi-million dollar pop star. Then I think "oh, how I wish I could have such luxury one day". But then I remember that most people on this site haven't even reach the age of 18 yet, and all the bitterness and immaturity makes sense.

No, all my exposure to Katy Perry is her singles, the award shows she has been in and one casual watch of the Prismatic World Tour on TV.
