Pointless thread.

She's re-building her image and doing it perfectly so far.

You're just clutching at straws, sis! A bit ridiculous. :toofunny:

Singing the NA is one of those opportunities where the song should not be made to be all about the singer, just like singing tributes. It would be so disrespectful if she "turned it on its head". I completely agree with you that what make her so fascinating is her ability to be different and nontraditional. But there is a time and a place for that. Gaga can be unleashed when she sings her own material or at her own shows when the situation is all about her.

Im wondering, what exactly would you have liked her to do on sunday?

Lady Gaga is at her best when she disregards what is appropriate for the "time and place," that was my entire point.

Personally I would have preferred an infamous Rosanne Barr style National Anthem performance, as opposed to her falling short of Whitney Huston's traditional performance of the National Anthem.

Lol, what an obnoxious writer. Their writing style made me want to vomit, serious pretentious overload

Too bad he made daddy pay Yale tuition for four years just so he could major in English to write column on an increasingly irrelevant online paper in the music section of all places:laughga: :emma::applause:

Bravo, d bag.

It's called having respect for country and those who risk their lives to protect it and having class, something apparently someone is lacking.

You think she's ever be invited back to perform at halftime if she pulled a stunt and disrespected America and our armed forces?

Somehow, like always, you manage to have a wrong opinion. Huh. I thought it couldn't be done but here we are.

Yes, I except her to do the unexpected, that is why she is Lady Gaga, and that is why she established herself as one the most influential and interesting figures of our generation. She didn't get on the cover of Time magazine by being a traditional pop star.

She runs errands in couture high fashion, she turns the simple act of leaving her hotel into performance art, she manipulates interviews and turns them into Oscar worthy performances, so I don't think it's to much to expect for her to turn the National Anthem on its head.

Oh god, please stop. If she did something ridiculous you would all be dragging her, as would the media. It would have completely destroyed all of the work cleaning her image she's done the past year an a half. Also selling the album at Starbucks was logical considering the target audience of Jazz... It must be so depressing constantly wanting an "old Gaga" back. Wait for LG5 and if it fails then she has a problem. As of now, she is showcasing solely her talent, while girls like Beyonce are releasing awful singles and doing the same thing they have always been doing.

Queen of showing the irrelevance of dinosaur media. It's stories like that which are accelerating their own death.
