they're graphic representations of emotions.

If you were on wheelchair will you be that cool being yelled "Hey the disabled guy is coming over!" by your friends? Or would it be funny commenting you on facebook with wheelchair? That's who you are...the guy in the wheelchair?!

Illuminati

It's not meant to attack people with disabilities in any way many people use it as a sassy emotion and nothing more.

The fact that it's wrong for YOU, means that YOU are offending them, YOU have the problem. not us.

A man with a wheelchair is not a "special" person, is not a defend-less person.. how you behave and how you acting like the "wheelchair savior" is wrong. they don't need your "awww poor thing let me help you with your wheelchair"..

how is it politically incorrect? It's an emoticon that represents a person in a wheelchair. Devoid of any other meaning. It's just a person in a wheelchair. If anything it's inclusive.

Exactly!!!  I have no idea why people find everything so offensive these days.  I mean, it's not like the emoticon is mocking people with disabilities in any way.  If the smiley face had an offensive tone to it then I would understand, but like you've stated, the emoticon is inclusive.

Instead of picking a fight, just ignore the emoticon and look the other way.  That's what people are supposed to do when something isn't of their taste, etc.  You can't ban everything that could be offensive because, then, where would it end????

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Honey, your intention is good but you are overthinking this.

You cannot equate someone yelling "HEY the disabled guy is coming over" or someone commenting a mocking picture of wheelchair under the Facebook post of someone with a disability with an emoticon that represents people in wheelchairs.

You seem to be switching between "This is mocking/offensive to Emma" and "This is mocking/offensive to other people in wheelchairs"

Emma chose the emoticon, so it's hardly mocking towards her.

Acknowledging people with wheelchairs exist with an emoji is hardly the same as yelling "Hey the disabled guy is coming!" or sending a mocking photo of a wheelchair to someone who is in a wheelchair :rip:

People get mocked and discriminated against due to the colour of their skin. The black emoticons on twitter are not offensive, they are inclusive.

People get mocked and discriminated against due to their physical disabilities. Emoticons depicting people in wheelchairs are not offensive, they are inclusive.

You would have a point if someone other than Emma chose the emotion and she took offense to it, but she chose it herself.

Well, NO ONE on this website posts the emoticon thinking: HAHAHAHA YEAH I AM MAKING FUN OF PEOPLE WHO CANT WALK OMG SO FUNNY YEAH LOLOLOLOL

So, if you are the one thinking that, maybe you are the one with a problem, not the rest of us. You are being ridiculous since the person on the weelchair that has her name on that emoticon was ok with it. :emma::emma::emma:

First of all you have to inform yourself of what these ppl are getting through, they dont even have access on the public space...in my country..I dont know if u live in Wonderland! Ofcourse you feel defend'less when you stay at home all day and walk outside bcause have parked their bikes on the pedestrian (like in my neibourhood) or the elevator on the building you wanna go doesnt fit your wheelchair! First you have to inform yourself and then you can find it cooool to have a wheelchair emoticon option!

Lmao who is this kid and why are you making such a big deal out of it? I have never seen that emoticon used for mockery, it is called Emma because Emma started using it and she's completely okay with it. It's a homage to her stay at GGD, just like Gaga's wheelchair was named Emma as well.

well, now that I think about it, maybe Gaga was being disrespectful by calling her wheelchair Emma, maybe we should all sabotage LG5. What a joke.

Pink flamingos always fascinated me.
