I've personally never liked it and I don't ever use it. I think maybe the original intention was good, but the way and the instances in which people use it feel like a mockery of disabled people. I don't think there's anything comical about being confined to a wheelchair.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

it's politically incorrect which means it's not good only for Emma (even if she has no problem with it) but for ALL the people with disabilities in general!

I really don't think it is politically incorrect :smh:

The only person you are criticising here is Emma herself who chose the emoticon. Did you expect Admin and the rest of the mod team to criticise and overrule her on how she wanted her own emoticon?

I'm going to bow out of this, because I wasn't a mod when Emma was still active or when she chose her emoticon and I don't want to speak on her behalf but I don't think an emoticon representation of an emoticon in a wheelchair is necessarily mocking or in bad taste.

It's the emoticon Emma chose and I don't think it's fair to say "Actually no Emma, you are not allowed to use an emoticon in a wheelchair, how offensive!"

I'm pretty sure they first asked Emma about it

It's not ONLY about Emma (even if she's ok with that) but FOR ALL THE PPL W/ DISABILITIES. Totally politically incorrect!

:emma: It's such a coy yet shady little smiley face, peaking over the arm of the chair. That's always been my interpretation of it.

My opinion is people are too sensetive.

I think this one goes also for the ppl in wheelchair  not only for me ;) Just think about it! Is it that bad being sensitive anyway? Or talking for Gaga's buttocks is way more cool than this thread?

how is it politically incorrect? It's an emoticon that represents a person in a wheelchair. Devoid of any other meaning. It's just a person in a wheelchair. If anything it's inclusive.

Oh, I'm just visiting-
