She loves to sing and sense the crowd, stopping when there is an exclamation and let the crowd react which adds to the drama. That's the theatrical side of Gaga which she will always have. So yes it as not as strict as technicians might have liked it. But she did allow the crowd to express their emotions and in that way tugging those patriotic heart strings which they seemed to have enjoyed thoroughly.
