The video is saying, Hey, look, I'm one of y'all. But then after filming is over, "Now let me get this nappy hair off and get my usual sleek white hair back on and retreat to my mega mansion in a mostly white rich enclave in a gated community with a guardhouse at the gates, and later go over to Chris Martin's mansion for a barbecue." LOL I guess it's good that someone this high profile can get the video seen which drives home points to be made. Too bad her sister didn't make it.. But I'm not the target audience, so it doesn't matter what I think or feel is contrived by Bey. It matters what her black fans think. The video is interesting and timely and art, at least. Video is great but shouldn't be the best part. How many writers did this one take? Genuinely curious...
