I'm so sick and tired of these "I'm better than you" messages in songs these days. The message itself is a little shallow, and the song isn't that great either. Very low for bey. Beyonce is smart--much smarter than this material--and she knows her audience wants dumb bops. She's filled her songs recently with tumblr/meme-ready quotes ("I woke up like this", Surfboard", "I might be the black Bill Gates", "I slay", etc) and "empowering" messages that keep her labeled as a "boss", "queen", "strong feminist", etc. Her songs are all designed to feed into her image, and everyone buys into it.
